Is it possible: Fast LSJ?

I have been wondering if there is any cobalt’s around here Tampa/Orlando/Ft. Meyers/Central Florida) that are fast.

One of my good friends that I know has a 2005 cobalt SS supercharged with mild mod’s, while he is an awesome driver, I just walk his **** hard every time we race. (40 rolls, digs, corners, ANYTHING)

So my question for this whole site is, is there any fast cobalt’s/redlines that live in the Central Florida Area?

I'm with Bryan. If you want a race in MI, make sure I'm there too. but other then that, sorry. It seems to me that a lot of the fastest LSJs are around this area of the states. MI, OH, and IN. but thats just the way it seems to me.

I believe we've finally got a couple 2.6" pulleys on their way to AZ. None of them will be in my car, though.

I hope to see cars like yours when I finish my project. Do you feel like driving up to Vancouver, BC?

This is just a thought but your signature says "Member 001: Called out the whole site" which is inaccurate unless you plan on coming to where the fastest Cobalts are. If not then you are only actually calling out Florida Cobalts.

and what kind of #'s do you plan to put down. So you guys are pretty much saying there is only like 3 cobalts spread across the United States that might hit a 280WHP mark?

what kind of mods do you have done to your sti.

I've never really considered the cobalt in the same league as the sti and the evolutions.

I also consider anythign south of a 13.5 in the quarter fast.

ps I get better gas mileage

wow this turned ugly by the time i wrote my post. lol

sti guy - you're talking a whole different ball game between an AWD sti and a FWD cobalt. I'm not really sure how you outrun your friend from a 40 roll since stock cobalts will keep up with sti's at that pace.

ESX 365 kit with APS Header/Upipe and a few other bolt on's

for victory red SS. what kind of #'s do you plan to put down, it sounds like you may have one the most modded LSJ's around........

....typical cobalt owner
He's the 1st to flame when many others have been cool - I would say he's anything but typical.

"My" expected whp is 550-600. Now do you want to come to Vancouver?
As for the member calling your car a pos just ignore him. Most of us here like cars and are respectful of others who drive something different than us.
As for other Cobalts at the 280whp those numbers will start climbing fast enough now that the after market for us is picking up.

like i said he has the 2.6 pulley, close to 19lbs of boost, which is pretty much maximizing the blowers efficiency right around there, so im assuming he would put down around 270WHP....from a 40(he cant keep up)

Actually I am adding a turbo charger. The engine has been built to with stand crazy boost and 700hp. The twincharged setup is very new and if it doesn't work as well as expected straight turbo would be my next step. There will be dyno's and vids as well as magazine coverage when I get this done. I am getting closer to completion.

stock ss's will not hangin with stis from a roll. my friends stage 2 hung with a stock sti and theres video to prove it. unless someone wants to make a vid of stock v stock, stage 2 = stock sti

Welcome to the site 2006STI365. What mods do you have? What are your current dyno numbers, or better yet, track times?

Turbonetics is supplying the turbo the original thought was the t3-t4 hybrid but Turbonetics engineers think we possible need to step that up to a t5. That decision will be made by weeks end.
I am hoping tuning gets done at the end of Sept. We are only waiting on Bates to finish the cylinder sleeves. Then the engine goes back together. No bolt has been left unturned in this project.
