Is it possible: too add a 3rd spolier to the 06 STI?

Seems the 06's are faster with the added spoiler and capital "I"

Just messin, very nice ride, watch the Sarcasm
the real question is why do our cars have spoilers, we are FWD

in reality we need to bolt this big ass spoiler to the hood hahahaha

Anyway, nice car, I'd like to see some races VS a heavily modded 'balt.
thanks.

Again, I am not picking on cars. I have to come to see how far the cobalt can be modded and what kind of track times it can see. Simple.

Since your car is 10K cheaper, should i compare it to a dodge neon, i hate skittles

I bet he doesnt go to the EVO forums and says this. I mean a stock 07 evo would probably smoke his STI, I mean go to where the competition is at man. not here, how much money would it take you to run consistent 11s. I can tell u this, a new evo will run 11s with exhaust, intake and tune. I bet your sti cant do that. there way soo many more fast evos than STIs also why do you think you see so many more evos than stis on the road. Bcuz those who do have 30k to spend on a car will buy an EVO not a sad STI. tell you this, my friend in his boosted rsx (8psi) with 4k worth of mods but buslenghts on an sti with turbo upgrade and built motor. yeah the rich sti kid has just spent over 10k in mods.

Okay an STI is faster than a cobalt. This at least to me is no news, and i'm sorry if i come off as a dick but the way you opened this thread just makes you vulnerable to being called an idiot, I like STIs but to come in here and say is there a fast LSJ is arrogant.

Another thing is to consider how many years of research you guys have STIs have been around forever, so they obviously know all about them we're relatively new and haven't learned all there is to know.

Its like a 2007 Z06 to go to an STI forum and say are there any fast STIs?

It's all relative to what you consider "Fast" if you race top fuel dragster running 6's then i'm sure anything over that is slow.

So moral of the story, get informed about what your talking before you come in here to "call people out"

Other than that welcome to the site.

yip, pretty ballzy seeing how stock GTO's and EVO's can keep up if not beat you. And modded LSJ's and Boosted RSX's can also keep up if not beat you.

Here is my wing thread you were all talking about:

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/general-cobalt-68/ss-sc-high-mount-wing-26507/

It is posted on Chevrolet.com in the pictures of the Cobalt. Just because GM says it reduces wind noise doesn't mean the wing does anything in the way of downforce. The wing is there for show. It doesn't do anything. You really need to be well above 150 MPH before something like that starts giving you noticeable downforce.

The fact that you can order the low-rise spoiler in place of the stock one means it likely doesn't do anything. If it was critical to producing downforce (i.e. making the car stable), GM wouldn't allow you to order the car without it.

As of right now i'm stock, saving up to mod because i'm still in high school, but i'm about to in about a week have stage 2 2.8", which i'm sure stating what you said earlier doesn't impress you at all so i'd be no challenge i'm sure.

But, I'm in orange park, right outside of jacksonville.

I guess I'll stop reading.

ok your STI is FAST IT's so fast you dont even race bikes just fighter jets.

I love all cars (except kias) and love STIs even looked at a few. but it seems that you have your heart set on making your self feel better about putting out more power than a brand new car that has limited upgradeablitiy. we dont have real twincharge kits out yet, full turbo swaps, or complete controll over our ecm. so how about you give cobalts a little more than 2 years of production before you start calling them out. since you're looking for a super fast car to race I know of a few CFT (central florida tunning) cars down there that might give you a run for your money.

Still anyone who says that downforce in the rear of a FWD car is an idiot. Weather or not the SS spoiler is functioonaly, downforce on the rear still is VERY functional. When cornering you need traction on ALL wheels, not just the driven ones people, come on!

Hey 2006STi365... I've got a Corvette with a blower on it... runs AT LEAST a 11 sec 1/4... you wanna race that... and if your are curious as to how far a Cobalt can be modded... why don't you turn on your TV and watch some NHRA drag races... NOPE, No STi's there... just Cobalts setting records!!! I don't remember exactly... but I think the big record is that the Cobalt was the first 4 cylinder to run over 200mph in NHRA competition... I read that out of a 07 Cobalt brochure. Here's some news for ya:

"In NHRA Sport Compact the Matco Tools Chevrolet set the national e.t. record at Englishtown in May with a 7.51 second run, and the speed record at Las Vegas in July exiting the traps at 196.44 mph. NDRA national records were set at Hunt's home track at Budds Creek, Md. in May with a run of 7.461 seconds, and just two weeks ago at Epping, N.H., WHEN THE ECOTEC-POWERED COBALT EARNED LOW QUALIFYING HONORS AND POSTED A NEW SPEED RECORD OF 199.27"

Wait a second... am I on STi.net... orrrrr am I on CobaltSS.net... I get confused sometimes.

Alright, Enough being an Ass. Truth be told... there is almost always another car out there that can beat some other car out there. SO there is no use making statements like "IS IT POSSIBLE TO MAKE A FAST LSJ?" You might as wells go to Aveo.net and ask if they make "fast" Chevy Aveo's. Point is, you're faster... I would EXPECT you to be faster. No need to start **** on here.

you should have posted this earlier, i lived in Orlando until 2 weeks ago. I have a intense stage 4 kit its putting 244HP and 233TQ. Fastest i ran at bithlo was 14.0 but after that my clutch started slipping so theres room for improvement if i could actually LAUNCH it. Plus that track blows...

In all honesty man, our aftermarket isn't that far yet. These cars are only 2 years old, it'll be awhile before you start seeing several 11 second daily driven cobalts. You might find some better competition if you call out cars that are in your range to begin with. A LS2 GTO and a 2003-2004 Cobra both started at around the same price as yours did stock, so you ought to go find or call out a modded one of those. Although we probably already know how that would turn out, especially a 2003-2004 Cobra. Win or lose, I'd still race you if you were closer. By the way, what trap speed are you expecting?

I would hardly call it respectful. 1/2 way polite, but in just the way that is completly non-respectful

like "Are there ANY fast RSX's? because all the ones I have seen are really slow, even the really heavily modded ones"

the video of the sti and black cobalt on the track thats my car... ive raced 2 sti's on the highway earlyer that day .. one was an 06 and one was the older model year ... i ate both of them.... after the track that night i raced an evo that was running 12.7 earlyer that night at the track... on the highway i had a half a car length on him before i had engine problems bad ones i wish my car was back from the dealer... but i would love to show ur sti what cobalts are capable of! best of yet 13.607 @102.5 with a burnt clutch not to bad and bunch of tire spin and wheel hope... ive also raced a turbo sentra that runs 11.7 at the track ... de tuned the night i raced him on 6 psi 4 car lengths ... he was very very upset that a cobalt beat him.. he didnt know my car was running with one exhaust valve completely burnt......
