why do people hate on the cobalts soo much? such as super slow , super s***, slowbalts ???

It's the young stereotypical rich high school/college kid look(like the racer boy wing on the back) that drives the negative attention. I'm sure the SRT Neon owners have it worse then you guys though.... Just my .02 cents.


When I think of stereotypical boy racer Cobalt SS owner(driver I should say) I think of this.... There was a kid in high school who looked like this and drove one. It's a car that I can see the owner wearing a snapback sideways with....




Makes me think of this guy too.... when I think Cobalt SS driver. LOL.

Cobalts aren't POS lol, why would you say that about your own car? They seem like pretty solid cars to me.

I felt like Honda copied your car with the 8th gen Honda Civic redesign in 2006.... I think it actually looks pretty good, and you have those RX8-esque rear doors ?

 

People take the big bad 5.0 Mustang set it up on this pedistal and it barely edges out the LNF Cobalt on the freeway if not loses to one that has a really good driver. People like to talk crap about a car they know nothing of. It's easier to say the Cobalt is 4 cyl and ricer than line it up. We are highway sleeper kings.

 

because the Cobalt is a economy car and everyone knows economy cars are not built with the best quality. We all know the motor/tranmission are good but the interior was not built with the best ideas.

Not to mention when people think Cobalt SS they all think the supercharged version which was given very negative reviews. Now dont take this as I hate the Supercharged version, I like them both! but this just contributes to the negativity. Everyone always asks me "is this the supercharged version?" and when I say no its the turbo they always say "Wow, i didnt know these came in a turbo version"

i get pretty much nothing but interest and love for my car. random people come up to me all the time (ok, ok a few ppl a month) that say something like 'nice car' and ask questions and stuff. thats love. atleast its not hate.

 

Many people I talk to don't know about either SS (supercharged or turbo). If you tell them you have a cobalt they poke fun at me. Hell I never knew about the SS balts till I was in the market for a car and I randomly went on GM's site to look at cars randomly.

 

I actually found out about the Cobalt SS from Need for Speed Most wanted lol.

Plus I always saw one park next to my work when I walked to work at Best Buy. It was Lazer Blue and I just wanted one. This was well before the turbo version was out

 

If you honestly care about what other people about your car that is pretty sad.

Again as long as your happy with your ride that's all that's maters.

 

Try having a 2.4 and telling people you have an SS. Hell, I had a GM tech try to tell me that the 2.4 wasn't an SS model during '07...

 

Some of the biggest haters are within our own community....

SS/TC owners hating on SS/SC owners.

SS owners hatin on SS/NA & base model owners.

It's sad really.
