ppl hatin on the cobalts
Lol at the GM plant I was talking to two other guys about my cobalt and one guy said he owned an Ion redline, the other guy was like "who makes that?!" he pulls out his phone to google it and was like "what the hell is that?!?!" "are those recaro seats and a supercharger in a saturn?!"
oh and I'd take LNF Seats over the recaro's, the recar seats have a funny purple colour to them, and the White LNF seats are just Teh sex

I work for a large automotive supplier, in the seating division. I fabricate prototypes (minus the tracks/mechanisms) which come from another division under our company "umbrella".
Some of our projects are pretty cool (currently working on the Caddy ELR), and some not so glamourous (i.e. minivans and microcars for non-US markets).
Yes, it does say GMP on the seats. They bought 'um.

Eh, everyone I talk to when I am out in it that wants to talk about it is interested in it and have thought about getting one, never had a gay comment unless I have not heard it and in that case they are too scared to say so to my face. I just tell people who ask why I decided on it, that you have to just drive one and not a casual drive but really get down to the nitty gritty. The handling is just pure nonsense haha. I used to take a turn in my SS that is pretty hairy at what I thought was fast, now in the miata, add another 20 mph. Its great knowing you do not have to slow down much at all to take turns and its even funner taking looped on-off ramps at insane speeds. Biggest factor like anything is tires, if its a cheap set you know the deal.
As for hating on the balts, its typical. Its been summed up good by a few in here. I never once got upset about bad comments about my car, typically ends with them being dumb founded as I leave them in the wake of my exhaust OR I tell them about the car, show some knowledge and let them know I know its not a great car but for the money, its a nice deal compared to other crap in the category. I loved it and that is all that mattered. I had 3 altogether, granted one was just for a few days. An LT then got a base model with add ons like keyless, power windows and cruise and did some stuff to it till I finally gave in and picked up the SS SC. I would have one again with no issue either. Did the job and the SS/SC was a blast and I do not regret putting nearly 10 large into it. My only issue was having to sell it which I almost decided not too but the money talked.

Gotten alot of the typical responses from this thread, oh its an upgraded cavalier, oh my mom rented one of those once. Haters gonna hate. No sweat off my back. I like it, I paid for it, I modded it to my liking. Ive raced people and spanked them and gotten respect, ive lost, but kept up with people who thought they were gonna smoke me and got respect. Ive beaten people and had insults yelled at me. Its all par for the course.
The end of the day, I enjoy what ive worked hard for, and have had a blast, and met a ton of great people in the process.

Up here N/A cars perform significantly worse than a F/I cars in applicable cases. So stock my car gave a lot of stock V8's a run for their money. I beat a GTO stock vs stock at the track when I first purchased the SS/TC. Now I imagine I'd give a lot more trouble to N/A V8 at the track.
