Here is a picture of my buddies G35 that he had to sell because his g/f made him buy a house! This is an 2004 G35 6MT Premium Coupe (has GPS Nav, Brembo's, all the goodies).

If i could afford one i would get one! I didn't even get to race him because i my ss/sc was 3 months late getting to me and he had sold it 2 months before !
Im sure it would have beaten me but it would have been fun to try!

And they probably have the best sounding exhaust from the factory! Very unique sounding to, i love hearing them go by!

i just ran into one last night. it had 6-speed with 1 passenger. I raced him from a dig and got a good launch, no wheel spin, but i lost by 1 car length to 90 because i had 4 other ppl in the car with me. Im sure that extra weight was the reason he pulled on me. I really wannna race one without anyone with me now just to see if i will pull ahead. But judging from that race i'd have to say its a drivers race. Plus if you race an auto any ss/sc should easily pull ahead.

I mean you S/C guys pull pretty hard on WRX's from a roll and you are only trapping 3-5 mph difference. 15 mph difference thats not gonna be a car walking by, thats going to be a car FLYING by...
Agreed...as noted before, a 1/4 time may not always indicate which car is faster from a roll, but a 15 mph different in trap speeds sure will.

yupp exactly.... my buddy just bought an 04 350Z and it ran 14.1@101mph with no problem on his second run.... Another friend of mine took his mom's automatic G35 sedan down to the strip and pegged off a 14.7@96.5mph.... Those things are no slouches

So a SS/SC with a half-way decent driver should take an auto G35 by at least 1 car length. Vs and 6-speed Z/G35 its all about the drivers, advantage to the Z/G35. Of course if you tell any of those guys that your cobalt will keep up with them they'd probably laugh at you. Havent really met anyone who owns either of those cars though, so dont wanna throw them in the same boat as (most)SRT4/BMW owners. I wouldnt believe that a car rated at 205hp would hang with one rated at 285+, so they have a reason to laugh i guess

speaking of this thread... i was headed down I-471 after i got off work and lo-and-behold i found two kids about my age preparing for a race....both were about my age, and one was an intern by the name of John that works at G.E. with me... he's rich and his dad bought him an 04 G35 that always got him ***** in high school and he still has it...

John must've ran into one of the guys from this thread or something because i saw a black Cobalt SS/SC in the lane beside them... I freight-trained John and the kid and it seemed as if the Cobalt, despite its "205hp" stayed right at the back of John's front fender the whole time...45-130mph.... The Cobalt fell back to John's rear bumper on his shift to fifth and that's about it... We stopped and talked to the kid and checked out his ride.... he's stock... and so is John's G35

So pretty even from a roll with two good drivers
