Also take into account that a basically stock ls3 makes over 400whp with just a tune, exhaust, intake and cams. Guy in the trans am had more aggressive mods than that. Its possible he was on a happy dyno.
I still have no clue what car you are reffering to... My cobalt or Z28? Regardless, there is no replacment for displacment-Where are you getting this ls3 thing from? A LQ4 is a 6.0l iron block out a a truck... a ls3 is an aluminum 6.2l which replaced the ls2 that was a 6.0l aluminum block... There are no "cams" in an ls3 just one "cam". A bone stock ls3 is rated somewhere around 430hp and 430ftlbs. So your bolt-ons, cam and a tune should put you somewhere over 500hp on an ls3 (depending on how heavy your cam is) and supporting mods. The guy in the trans am had the absolute wrong setup for a N/A car. Nothing with his setup made any sense. People put lq4 blocks into there cars because they want to run boost because the lq4 blocks compression is low. Put that procharger back on that T/A and get things right and lets see a remtach- regardless that cobalt is one bad ass car.

My bad, I didn't see lq4 block, I thought I read Ls2 block+ls6 heads (which should equal close to an ls3) and I meant cam because I know that the ls series is a pushrod engine. Got caught up in between cobalts(dohc) and trans ams. The guy should have just bored and stroked the ls1 that was in it before tbh then if he was looking for n/a power. What I was also saying about the ls3 is they make around 400+ to the wheel with bolt-ons, tune and a street cam. Notice I put the "+" in there to leave room for different types of bolt-ons and it also depends on who tuned the vehicle. Saying 400 is the least a ls3 would make with those mods. Also I was talking about your cobalt vs an efr balt. Not trash talking as I said before, just saying it looked like that cobalt had a ~100whp advantage(which is what it would be if the t/a dyno numbers were correct as well as the cobalt weighed a lot less).

Edit: If it were a Ls2 this is a GTO with similar mods for example.

I don't doubt that the ZZP transmisson is better than the stock 320ft/lbs rating of the F35 ~ but probably not in excess of (or nearly) a 100% increase;
and the further torque multiplication yielded from the lower FDR might make matters worse.
idk. with the larger mass and the strength of the gears themselves. i think the zzp trans is much stronger than people think. atleast strong enough for 95% of cobalt owners' goals. if the stock f35 trans is only rated at 320ft/lbs then i've had mine at 150 above that for many dyno pulls and a few 160+ highway pulls. that and its daily driven on a little over 340ftlbs. stock as **** open diff with a zzp stage4 clutch. with the zzp trans built the way it is i could see it being good for 600ftlbs reliably.

I raced a 96 lt1 trans am ws6 and pulled 4 on the street on street tires and the next day at the track with him on m/t street legal radials I pulled almost 2 with him jumping and redlighting. I would love to find a LSx ws6

Oh yea, for sure. Some guy in a newer C4 tried to race me. Pretty sure it had an LT1, not sure which version tho. He tried to run me and I dropped a couple gears, stomped it and took off. About 5 seconds later when I slow down I get a ricer fly by from him, chase him down and pull right up on his ass and stay there as he tries to pull away. LT1s are nothing in stock form compared to the LSx series...
