spec v vs my ss2.4
I apologize if this is the wrong thread, but i haven't seen anything on this and i want some opinions on the turnout of this race. im gonna run an 04 spec v with i/h/e and at that time my balt will have i/h/e tranny mounts and motor mounts. possibly even a tune. for scenario sake tho ill say no tune. will it be mainly just a driver's race or will there be an edge to one side?

thats wut i was thinking... by t u mean tuning? i went on a couple of their sites to see wut different mods put out to whp and wtq and with full bolt ons they were barely at 170.. considering guys on here with full bolt ons and tuning hit 180 on mustang dynos, and the fact that i'm a lil lighter might give me a slight advantage.. i just need to work on launches

Now that I know about 1st gear I think it is pretty safe to say the SS/NA will win. You have 5 gears versus his 6. Shifting less means pulling away more. You do have the F23 tranny right? If not, I'm going to take away what I just said if you are running the 4T45.

I did look at his sig. Picture is too small for me to recognize it. Quaife, the supplier of the LSD for the G85 package also makes LSDs for the F23 tranny. It'll set him back about $1500 plus install.

I did a bunch of races against a Spec V with I/H/E and a SAFC tune. I had an Injen Cold Air intake and Vector Tune. We did 1st gear rolling pulls. I walked away in every gear. My car was a 5 speed sedan with no options, no leather, no sunroof, no sub box and no side air bags.

Before I decided on my buying my g5 gt I took out a spec v. Out of the two I felt like the g5 gt had more grunt. Plus the spec-v has a retarded low redline it was actually anoying. Overall I think you can beat him just make sure you get a good lauch because spec v's have a little more tq than us 2.4 i think 180tq.

I used to have a Spec-v with I/H/E/DP and a 75 shot and it went low 13.4-13.5's @105, with just an intake/downpipe i went 14.9@92mph with a 2.1 60"ft....It all depends on how they are driven and what mods are used together, most guys have crappy setups and cant drive, with I/H/E/DP i beat an 04 Redline with an aem cai by a half a car from a dig, but from a 2nd gear punch he beat me pretty good 3-4 cars....BTW i put down 170whp/182wtq with I/H/E/DP
