no, a 2.4 would not be winning in this case. Si's are slow, but an n/a ss com'on! give em' a little credit.

your full of ****. LOL. i beat a full bolt on tuned 2.2 in my nearly stock 06 si. all i had on it was a custom intake, exhaust, and some other various goodies. i managed to pull a 1/2 car on a stock ss/sc as well with it. your 2.2 prolly pulled a R18 civic.

struggle?

2.4 are 171 @ crank

new Si's are 190 @ crank

I guess I'd have to see what the Si makes @ the wheels to know for sure, but the 2.4L is most assuredly he underdog.

I don't doubt it.

Those cars have wayyy more support than us;
Last time I went to the track I did three runs against an '09 SI c/w supercharger kit putting out only like 5-7lbs boost (iirc) - he had me on all three runs.

the newer si's put down between 170-180whp stock. with full bolt ons (i/h/e) and a tune they can put down around 210whp. some less, some more, depends on other mods such as intake mani (can net 10whp or more) throttle body, meth, etc. with cams and other things they can go even higher. ive seen a n/a si put out 255whp with bolt ons and cams. altho most cammed si's will put down 230whp or so.

most 2.4 ss/na/s need full bolt ons and maybe more to hit 170whp n/a.
