Back when I was stock, I was taking on an Si at the track with an H/E set-up. He kept asking me if I was stock and he still didn't believe me when I showed him the stock pulley. He was running 14.6s most of the day while I was running 14.3-14.4s.

Its really sad and to make things worse they make up excuses as to why they lost. I know a kid who has an EX sedan with an intake and exhaust and he swears up and down it blows away an stock Si.

I guess I missed the drivers ed class that explains when you put aftermarket parts on your car it makes it an instant race car.

 

ive seen bolt on si's beat turboed ex's (~230whp) if he mentions anything to do with flashpro or kpro, watch out is all im saying. stock, well we all know since its been said 100 times.

They sure know how to get every ounce of power to the ground. Who cares if they don't make 300 ft/lbs to the wheels ....their tires are bitting while our's are spinning . I honestly think they have one of the best powerband to gear ratio combo's from a mass produced factory car.

 

For those saying an Si is a downgrade from an ss/sc or ss/tc, all you care about is power. I just got my 09 ss/tc in june after i totalled my 07' civic ex. yes an r18, not even an Si. I have driven my friend's Si and test drove a bunch of other Si's because after the wreck i was set on a new Si, but because I no longer have a co-signer Honda wouldn't approve me, no matter where I went. I had a week to find a new car and chevy approved me no problem with nothing down and gave me an awesome interest rate...(no idea why, when honda wouldn't) But aside from all that, i LOVED my civic. Despite it being n/a, it was so much fun to drive. It was lowered on sportlines, had a set of 18in bronze work cr kais, and mild greddy boltons, that was it! I could take my friend's saturn ion redline off the line and even from a roll when we'd go mess around on woodward(michigan). The build quality BLOWS AWAY everything on my ss/tc. The only thing i honestly like about my ss/tc is the turbo. I prefered my honda in every other aspect. I'm not trying to hate on cobalts, cus i do like mine and i'll keep it for the next 2-3 years probably... but after that i can almost guarantee i will be going back to honda to get the new revamped si, or rumored return of the acura rsx.

Been going up against newer SI a bunch at the track lately. Unfortunately i was GM2 at the time with a CAI. SI varried but most of them had I,H,E on them and got blown away each time.

Stock for Stock its pretty much a drivers race. Would pick the SC though if i had a choice.

 

my friend has a 08 civic si i/h/e i have a 06 ss/sc Intake and ingallis. i beat him everytime. however he has gone up against ss/na cobalts and beats them. according to K&N dyno the cobalt ss/sc is 208 whp with 188 ft-lbs the civic si is 174 whp and 135 ft-lbs just for reference the 06 cobalt ss/na is 165whp and 147 ft-lbs (all results are stock with intake only no other mods)

 

bro u cant even lie that white SS is pure SEX i love the rims that come with the ss/tc wish i could find someone around me who liked the ss/sc rims and wanted to trade lol but on the other hand ill let u guys all know when we run and how it went hopefully the BALT comes out on top

 

i do miss my fg2. ill be getting another someday. that or a dc5. on drls ive seen many full bolt on kpro rsx's int the mid 13's. not too shabby for a n/a car without major mods.

It not the car that's an issue in fact its a great car kinda expensive to mod but the Cobalt is the same. Its the drivers, most of them need to relearn how to drive or so it seems.

 

aight guys heres a bullshit story. So finally after a few weeks for trash talkin we are finally gonna run my stock ss against my boys stock si. before we roll out we stop by my house to get my other friends radar and when we pass the main road next to my house we see maddddd fire trucks and police cars and a car that looks lik it ****** blew up ( **** was FUCKED UP). so me and my friend are like maybe this is a sign from te car gods or something lol. so anyway we get the radar hit the highway and jus do a pass by for cops exit to exit. we pulll off and stop on the off ramp and guess wat happens....cop pulls all 3 of us over ( my boy with his audi decided to drive his car with the radar). Cop is a dick takes all our IDs and start askin us if we been drikin/smokin and he tries to pin weed on my friend with the audi cuz he smokes cigerettes (like a retard). so he asks my friend if he mines if he looks in the car and my friend says go ahead and the cop rips my boys car a part takin all his papers and **** and jus tossin it around and then leaves it all like that...****** ******* cops man...so we ended up goin to mcdonalds and not racing... so tune in next time for an exciteing episode of trying to race my friend lol
