SS vs Si
my favorite SI story is of a guy here with a '06 Si... he has a Hondata tune, header, catback, cai, motor mounts, etc.. pretty much full bolt-on + tune...
when I 1st got my car, he was stock.... stock for stock, I walked him.... he got most of the bolt-ons, I had the superchips tune only... I walked him... he then got the Hondata tune and some more bolt-ons and "called me out"... but at that time I had went with the 23psi trifecta tune, added a downpipe, upper charge piping, and a cai...... it was our most one sided affair, lol.... most of the time I wouldn't have even cared because it was a 300+whp car vs a probably not even 250whp car.......but he is one of those guys that talk **** about American cars any chance he gets....
right now all the cars he gotten to run me.... well, his boys are 0-3
a turbo civic(no idea on the specs)
a DSM with "cams"(once again no idea on the specs)
a hatch civic(N/a, was loud as hell when it "hit vtec" but slow as ****)

What is this 2006 all over again?
SS/sc
Stock for stock from a dig is a drivers race. (ss is a bitch to launch )
from a ricer roll you should pull him since the SS traps higher stock.
Stage 2 (or equivalent ) vs stock Si wins both roll or dig (unless you really suck at driving.
modded vs modded who knows .
my buddy has an si with all bolt on and hondata or passport (i forget which one )
from a dig(1/4 mile ) we are close he runs a constant 14.1 @99 i run between 14.2 and 13.8. @ 105 at the track he has beaten me a few times , but from a roll i destroy him lol.

i hit a curb at like 70mph sideways.... the frame was bent and all the airbags were blown, suspension completely blown out and engines had damage to it as well, the estimate was around $16,000 to fix everything, car was worth $15k so they totalled it

Meanwhile my buddy in his SI flat foots the throttle side steps the clutch manages to pull 2.2-2.1 60s and bangs gears as fast as humanly possible the whole way down the track with only a little wheel chirp. If we tried that in our SS's we would burn the tires off the rim by the time we hit the trap. The Si's lack of low and mid range Tq, and its efficient gearing has a big advantage on a wrong wheel drive car.

launch control suck. check that SI diying after launch control at 7000.
his SI has MT drag radial and not able to do better 60' me
and me same day that MAX and both SI. i love my traction, acording to me, MAXime is bye bye butterfly. even his trapping is higher. but it ll be tight at the end<

Aight fellas it finally ****** happened and in the 2 weeks i was down at skool he put an AEM intake in the Si and im still stock we did a 40 roll at 3rd gear and he pulled on me to 4th then i started pullin up even with him and then i pulled away and beat him at 110...then we did a 2nd run at 50mph at 3rd gear and again he pulled on me at the start (****** vtec man) lol anyway he had me on the start heard him go into 4th and i was still in 3rd and beasted on em pulled about half a car length on em then went into 4th and jus beat em again.... such a good feelin lol now i got bragging rights for awhile so there it is SS over SI like nature predicted

Wow , why on earth would you do a 40 roll in 3rd gear. you should have been in 2nd. a 3rd gear 40 roll would have put you at at like 2500 rpm,way out of your power band. the si has shorter gears he was proably right in his powerband,If you were in 2nd you would have beed at about 4krpm or so. Hell even with the 50 roll you should have been in 2nd. that would have put you at 5krpm and you would have ripped away from him. guess this proves the "its a drivers race"augment. his pulling on you had nothing to do with vtec.
Hondas are slow unless the owner don't have the honda attitude.. (ricer). a stock sssc will take a stock si. A tuned sc with mild bolt ons will, beat a mild bolt on k20 civic. Reasons why... the sc.car builds its. Power in rpm. The si has no torque so therefore its Slow on take off. So sc would win. Only way sc would lose is if the driver sucks.
SI's are slow. i have a friend with a 07 with a intake, tune, exhaust and i blew the doors off that thing. I just have one of matts tunes and a muffler delete. I walked away easily from 60mph, then from 100 when we went again. The second time we went, i maxed out the ss at 160 and he said he could barely get to 140. He though his car was pretty fast till i took him for a ride. He wanted to sell his SI so bad hahaha
Not just that , a 5 speed with ridiculously long gears.
When i raced my buddy's speed3 it was a close race each time one of us would shift we would loose some ground, it was a neck and neck race, but he shifted twice for one of my shifts, so my long gears won the race for me in the top end.
when i was 3rd and 4th and pulling on him he was quoted as saying "when the **** is he gonna shift."
