If some of you think the LS2 is fun in a TBSS you should drive a C6.

Although it would be more fun to whoop someones ass in a SUV.

My friend has a 98 WS6 with an SLP intake, Long Tube Headers, Offroad Y, SLP Catback, and I think a TB. What should he be putting down/running?

WS6 Trans Am...well I know a guy who has headers, intake, and a tune. He runs high 12s all day long. So if its modded I'm going to say forget it. Then again, some people can't drive as well as he can so I dunno.

Year matters with the WS6. I'm pretty sure 02-03 were much faster then earlier years. I could be wrong. To give you a ball park, I think he would be in high 12s at least.

nah, thats a common misconception. All ls1 f-bodys are pretty much identical straight line performance wise. Any changes had minor impacts on performance. btw f-bodies stopped production in 02.

An LS1 is an LS1 is an LS1. If you want to know the minor differences between the years, they are as follows.

-The 1998 model had the most aggressive camshaft. Very little difference however.
-The 1999 model got a revised camshaft with better MPG.
-2000+ models I THINK didn't have the EGR anymore and got an air pump.
-2001-2002 models received the LS6 intake manifold, which netted slightly higher horsepower, but again very little difference.

There were also two different cylinder heads used in these cars. I can't think of what year had which, but it, again, made very little difference.

Actually it was more like this:

- 1998-2000 Used the same "aggressive" cam 2000+ used a truck cam
- 1998-1999 Had Tubular exhaust manifolds 2000+ Used cast exhaust manifolds
- 1998-1999 Had EGR 2000 had AIR and EGR and 2001+ only AIR
- 1998-2000 Used a LS1 specific intake 2001+ used the LS6 intake
- Some 2001-2002 LS1's had LS6 blocks but it made no performance difference
