Stock LNF vs 23psi tuned evo
Cruising HWY 100, this yellow EVO pulled up next to me down shifted and kept making his turbo spool thinking he was all cool. At first i wouldnt race him, then i finally gave in from a 2nd gear 40 roll we took off and i was pulling on him the whole time. (NLS ftw. ) After he wouldnt stop talking to me, he's like what you got done to it? Me: "Nothing, yet." Him: "No way you must have a tune or something".... then we stopped at the stop light and i asked him what hes all got done to his; he's tuned to 23 psi, cold air intake, turboback exhaust. I turned off to leave and of course he honked and waved. Cant wait to get my trifecta done in a few weeks

More or less this thread was to show how cocky he was, and it was an EVO 8. Forgot to mention that. And of course he wasnt boosting 23. Maybe 20, but still. The guy was cool after we raced.

alright that guy was def bullshitting you. any freaking evo with a full exhaust intake and tune (to 23psi especially) will be making WAYYYYYYY more horsepower and torque than a stock ss/tc. weight wont mean crap. good kill on your part but that guy was full of it...or his car was broken.
after you beat him you should said you were in limp mode too baha

Srt, Evo, Mustang, SS, Subi, etc. There is some in every bunch. Though you see it more in the SS, Srt due to a lot of the owners age.

lol i agree. silly people
YouTube - JNZ Tuning project Evo X dyno session
this POS made 276 whp and 295 wtrq with intake and boost controller ONLY, NO tuning.
It also made 328 whp and 311 wtrq later in the vid with intake boost controller and full exhaust, still NO TUNING.
YouTube - evo x dyno run
This one made 310 whp and 314 wtrq with cone filter, boost controller and full exhaust NO TUNE.
didn't know that those numbers translated into losing to a car that dynos 240whp and about the same torque.

I believe you beat him if he was full bolt-on because I raped one that didn't have a tune when I was stock. But yea, 23psi on those cars are mean unless your balt is running some bolt-ons and a really good tune too. The guy I raced is selling his and I wanna buy it in a baaaaad way. Good winter vehicle so the balt doesn't get rusty from the salt.

yes, very true. I'm only 22 myself but i know what my car CAN do and what it CANT do. But funny story real quick, when i was about 16 my first car was a 1996 honda prelude(auto) and i swore that thing was the s**t haha, i tried racing so many mustangs and getting my a$$ handed to me, ahh the good ol' days!

fwiw my buddy has an evo VIII w/ buschur charge pipes, ported o2 housing, big exhaust, some cold air and boost at like 23psi w/ an email tune and we were pretty much dead even from 70-130... both of us had the windows down and i had my sunroof back... i just assumed his car had more drag... hes been 8.17@84mph iirc and then left off idle and went 9.2@82... i went 9.48@78 shortshifting on nearly a 2.4 60-ft lol
