Stock Nissan Maxima V6 vs 06 SS S/C

There is a guy here at my work that drives a 05-06 maxima v6, I think its a 3.5L but I might be wrong, and he wants to race me. I have a 06' SS S/C w/ a CAI. Think I have a chance?

theres a video of an altima 3.5 pulling on a ss.sc with intake, he pulled the cobalt every single time from a stop, Maximas are heavier tho.

I have done the opposite with an Altima with a CAI and exhaust, 5 spd though. It's a drivers race between the SS/SC and Altima, not sure about the SE-R, so you should take the heavier Maxima if you can drive. If you lose send him my way!

You will loose against a 3.5L Altima but Im pretty sure the Maximas are heavier so IDK. When I first got my car I put an intake on it and raced a 3.5L Altima with exhaust and intake and the thing beat me by almost 2 cars.

Stock Maxima? The Q35 isn't weak, the Maxima is just a pig.

I raced one and won. There 0-60 is about 6.4, off the line you would be about even, then just pull away from there.

What the hell......

What are some of you on?

A stock Maxima or Alitma won't beat a stock SS/SC.

Maxima owns all. Its a variant of the 350z motor so it can't be beat. Except by an Orange SRT4.

On a serious note I think a Altima SE-R would run with a stock Cobalt. A bit more Hp and a few hundred more punds but I bet it could run with a Stock SS/SC.

The Altima SE-R is no faster than a standard Altima with the V6.

I think people are forgeting what a stock SS/SC can do.

Hey, A friend of mine has a 02 maxima 3.5 6 speed and i raced him when I was all stock, and from a roll he got me because he took off first, but from a stop we were dead eaven, until mid third gear then I started pulling. He had one passanger though and I was alone. Go for it I hear the newer maximas are slower than the 02.

2004+ nissan maxima's have 265 HP and a very strong drive terrain, THEY ARE NOT SLOW, my mom and dad have one and i have taken to mokan dragway and ran a 14.7 1/4 mile, so the SS/SC should beat it, but be on your toes and dont bobble, the 04+ has the 350z motor with some more mild cams, 350z's can get LOW 14's with a good run. You should be ahead but its going to be close.

There is a difference. Its only about 10 hp but it is a difference. And if a 14.7 can be run with the Altima I think that is pretty close to what an all stock SS/SC would run. A little slower but not much.

I read up on an SE-R, not sure which magazine, that ran a best 14.5@100 in their test runs. So if this is a consistent result it is right in the league of an SS/SC. You may win some, you may lose some. I will say this, as far as comparing the Altima to the Maxima. If I were to purchase one, I would go Maxima all the way. I know it cost more money but it is worth it in the overall appearance inside and out. Very nice car!

I've been looking for some Altima/Maxima forums that have a database of timeslips and haven't found ****! Do you know of one? I'm interested in comparing the performance between our cars and the Nissans.

w3rd!!!

I hate looking up times for both cars.

I know motortrend pulled a 14.3 out of an altima 3.5s. And on the dragslip site there are a couple that have ran 14.1s. But yeah it is a pain to look up stuff for them.
