GTO was modded and Cobalt was still gaining. GTO had a very good launch unlike the Cobalt.

not sure what i was watching. I didnt see any reeling in going on, i seen the GTO get the launch and then start to pull more and more.

LS engines have better top end than a LNF.

he started to gain ground as the GTO trapped and started to slow down...

wow, the GTO owner had like a 15 second reaction time, a passenger, and his radio was on, and he still smoked the cobalt. Who the hell goes down the track with their windows down, music blaring, and a person video taping in the passenger seat...? anyone? anyone? RICERS and the cobalt was no where NEAR the GTO... ever... at all... pathetic

 

I have to agree with the majority.... The Cobalt was showing off headlights this time.

I love the new Cobalt SS/TC, and I am excited for it's potential, I am also on the side of the the little guy, the little 4 banger, but this thread of yours is a big bag of fail.

 

this video wasnt me. i found it on youtube. also if you watch the video closely again you will see that the GTO STOPS losing the cobalt and the cobalt starts to slightly catch up BEFORE the trap. look closely, there wasnt much of it but it did happen and im PRETTY sure the driver of the GTO didnt just let off to see if the cobalt could catch up, that would be dumb. either way the cobalt got murdered off the line and with the GTO's torque was so much more. it would be a close race if this were a 1/4 mile and the driver of the Cobalt knew what the HELL he was doing. At least close your goddamn windows. He probably had his A/C on too. Chances are the GTO may still end up winning but I think its cool that the Cobalt starts to reel in the GTO, slowly, even if its lightly modded.

 

very awkward.. i raced a 6.0 from a roll from about 40-90 i was in front by half a car once we hit 105 range i was at his rear bumper... i really cant see a stock tc gaining on an ls2

 

This is what I saw...

Following the Cobalt shifting..

1st gear the GTO jumps a car or so ahead.
2nd gear the GTO pulls an additional 2 cars or there about
3rd gear the GTO pulls another 1/2-1 car
4th (the GTO may have let off) but it seemed pretty even with the GTO finishing 3-4 cars ahead.

actually it was a bone stock TC. and no **** a GTO is faster in the 1/8 mile but why dont you find someone with a stock TC and stock LS2 GTO and have them race in a 1/4 mile because I have seen no proof of one of those yet. until then I won't change my mind the Cobalt was gaining on him at the end, with an idiot driver, with the GTO having a couple mods. Prove me wrong, with footage.
