I've raced one a tuned one and edged it out. Overall, i'd much rather have a tc over my car.

Haha, haven't seen one of these threads in a while. Suprised he hung that close to you, especially since it wasnt even broken in and the driver has had such little seat time.

In my experience my buddies Stage 2 with CAI and GMPP would lose to me from a dig - 100mph by 1.5 cars and from a 40 by .5/1 car (when my tc was stock). We havent raced a lot since I have been tuned and have the d/p and all that.

Yeah, a stock SS/TC and a GM stage 2 Cobalt ONLY are pretty close in performance. I was murdering a guy at the track in a SS/TC last Fall. He had a cat-back exhaust, which kind I don't know and the Hahn CAI and charge piping. He was running 14.5s while cutting 2.4 60 footers.

Sound like the TC driver in your post was the one with the issues. Those mods would have done nothing for him, unless he is tuned, and if he is tuned he should trade in for a 2.2.
Without a tq dampener or traction mods sc's suck from a dig. I don't miss launching my old sc in the slightest. The tq just wasnt there for my buddy to beat me. A couple times the wheel hop issue causes him to get out of it.

My SS/SC was faster with the mod's below than my SS/TC was stock . When I dropped off the SS/SC and drove the TC home I could tell right away....... I had a little bit of buyers remorse until I got the Superchips tuner.

Local LNF thought I was a joke because I'm a 2.4 (Impressed he knew my rims were from a 2.4, but they are only my winter wheels lol)

Went from about 20-25 and pulled a good bit on him, I'd say about 2-2.5 cars. Silly cocky LNF's... Turbo means ZOMG!!!!111!!1111! He told me spraying is not fair

damn it, I miss my TC. I would kinda like to get in one but I'm currently waiting for the Golf R, if it makes the trip across the Atlantic. If not then i will look into a Used TC.

As for guys being cocky with the TC. Not in my case, I was always treated like **** by the Honda croud over here on the island. One guy onced Challenged me. I then decided to go on the cruise he organized and spoke with him to have a good old friendly race. I like his ride and commented well. He was just in bad attitude the whole time about it. Anyways, I followed them with my crew and when I had the chance I would signal and tell him " Let the cars talk". We spent 6 1/2 hours going on an island cruise for which he never did anything. I then left with my guys and as I get on the highway the guy text me calling me a *****, i told him " You enjoy your cruise bro and if you want I'll meet you right now just you and I" he never responded. After that i made all sorts of friends with the Honda guys cause they saw that I wasn't cocky, I just wanted to have a good time with some guys that share the same interest. Everytime he seems me, he gets all mad now and ****. HAHA oh well. There will always be a faster car out there no matter what.

I have even shut up another TC guy out here who wanted to race a friend of mine's Evo(Killer). HAHA, he even calls me up telling me that I need to see this. I head over, the guy is showing him his new TC, the AEM intake he has, the HKS BOV, the lights everywhere in his car, some kinda JDM exhuast.

I asked him one question:

"Did you get a tune?"

"NO"

You wasted your money, I guess the only thing you got out of this are some color and a deep toned sounding exhuast. I suggest you google some info before you go and want to take an Evo(496AWHP). I wanted to tell him more, like why the BOV(without the tune) and why the chritmas lights in the cabin, but whatever. Cocky, indeed.

But you have the power to make up for that 2.4 60'. A basicly stock TC which this guy had, you will need decent 60 footers to even consider getting into the 13s.

Yeah, I've never 'launched' my car at the track though. I MIGHT try it this summer, I really don't wanna break my car though...
