You <3 Tibbys.

I <3 Cobalts.

Arent these SS Cobalts made to mod? Appeal to the tuners.

I dont think a tibby was meant for that.

Just saying.

Wait it could? So it didnt run that with you driving it? I find it hard to believe that a 4 cylinder 5 spd tibby would run that when my Eclipse gt pretty easily walked away from a v6 manual (04ish?) GT tibby with exhaust and intake (could hear the tibby gt even behind me) and I doubt that Eclipse was a mid 14 second car. But by the way I pulled on him if your saying the 2.0l pulls mid 15's then the v6 with mods must be a low to 15 flat car which I dont see happening either considering the advantage in tq the 3rd gen sheclipse has over the tibby much less the hp difference as well.

Sorry I dont buy it. I think the tib gt does 0-60 in the mid 7s in manual form and a mid 15. that would make more sense as I steadily and easily walked away and I figure my eclipse is a 15 flat car. Its slightly quicker than my cobalt which has edged out 15.5 civics. (timeslips exist for those civics)

to this guy, why would you modify a cobalt? i get made fun more for driving a cobalt than i did with the tiburon, and my tibby held up better than my cobalt so far. ive nothing but problems out of my balt. and i sold it because some ******* rich kid offered me 25k cash for it. thats why i sold it not because i wanted to
um I can floor my auto cobalt at 30mph and if its slightly damp it will spin the tires to about 100mph if the traction control is off. Oh and its lightly modded
Spinning the tires does nothing to prove how much power a car has especially a fwd.

x2. With out a dyno sheet or timeslip you have no way of proving your Tibby was fast. And yes, there are members on here that could spin their tires that high and further if they were stupid enough to try it on bald street tires.

but but but..... I just did My time slip is on the 2nd page of that forum URL I just posted. Give the Tibby more credit would ya lol. The v6 was = to my 2.0 as far as I was concerned.

Oh and in one of the videos, I am toasting a 2004 Pontiac GTO 5.7L off the line, lolz. I dont know how it happened but I had him all the way to the 1/8 mile. After that however was a different story.

I was referring to his tibby that would "rape" every car on this site. Honestly, I've never seen a tibby anywhere that would rape every car on this site. Some people just don't know some of the older members on here that don't post a lot...

oh okay, its just that you were referring to CordiaDOHC's post, and his post was saying that he "doesnt buy it" and then I found my old forum with a time slip posted in there. Tibbys will not rape every car on the site, unless its a shop car, or you have sooo much money that putting 100k$ into a tibby is nothing to you. lol. I would only compare a Tibby to the 2.4's and 2.2's. I mean thats there cup of tea in my book. They both have close to the same hp. and theyre not boosted by any means.

Yea stock for stock that's a good comparison. As for this supposidly "super fast built" tibby this guy obviously has no idea of some of the Balts on this site. ZZP may have the fastest LNF atm, but that doesn't even touch some of the LSJ's that have been built by non-shop owners.

If he did have this super fast built tibby, how come he never ran it at a track? nor Is his timeslip posted 1/4 mile thread on that tiburon forum. I know its for old tibbys, but if he had the fastest tibby ever, im sure the time would be on there. That APE tiburon listed in the #1 spot was an automatic 2.0L 4 banger turbo tibby. there are some AMAZING videos of that thing running.

Yea that as well. I'm not a 1/4 mile guy honestly but after I finish my bolt-ons and tuning I'm gonna go run down a 1/4 mile. More so for the trap then E.T. but that comes with it. I don't like launching my car, I'm not very good at avoiding wheel hop and I don't have the money to spend practicing to get better. I like roll racing, it's not gonna snap my axle and as long as it's done safely I see nothing wrong with it.

Those tibbys would compare better to some of the light bolt on 2.2s 5spd or very light bolt on 2.4 autos. the 2.4 manuals will take them.

And 15.5 out of the previous gen tiburon is a bit more possible I thought you were the same gen as the newer v6's.

And I take it those tiburons still use a variation of mitsubishi's 4g63?

yeah the rd tiburons uses a motor that is a variant of the 4g63, they call it the Beta. It doesnt have CVV like the newer tiburons had so tuning cams seperately is possible. although I never wasted that kinda money on that thing. Alot of the parts on a 4g63 can work in the Beta motor. Hyundai got most of there parts and ideas from Mitsubishi back in the early early 90's when they made their first turbo car, the Scoupe. I believe it was a 1.8L turbo. It failed hard core. so they never approached turbo until now, lol.

The hp rating on the motor was originally 140hp and 138 torque... then a law suit happened and I got 100$ in the mail . Apparently the motor was only good for 136hp and 138 torque. They were over rating alot of there motors at that time and someone caught on. I know the 98 elantra 1.8L intake cam put into the 2.0L beta engine would net about 10hp gain. and you can find the cam for about $60, I never invested in that either.

The older tibby weighed in at about 2650Ibs. I deducted 130Ibs during my dragrace that landed that time, and I weighed 185Ibs at the time just to give you an idea.

The newer v6's would be better if they weighed the same as the rpevious tiburon. its too bad they weighed 400Ibs more.

The newer 4 cylinder thats in the tibbys is a lesser variation from the 4g63. and it has CVV. They call it the BetaII. the v6 is called the Delta, the v8 they have in the Genesis sedan is the Theta. There was a v8 supercharged motor in the works that put out massive power called the Theta S/C

oh my god. this is why i hate forums. i was not running my mouth to be cocky i was simply telling yall. my tibby was built in a shop. thank yall for pointing out the obvious. obviously its not 100% home built. i had my tibby in 05-08. and there is no tracks near me and i wasnt wasting my gas to go four hours away for a few runs when i can hit a straight away by my house thats three miles long. and when i said i could spin them to 150 on gps. and as for the guy looking for pictures your not going to find any because i didnt send ngm any. and once you show me the sickest ss on here right now that is already built and a daily driver then i will man up if i honestly think he could beat me

Local LSJ put down 587whp on a dyno. I'm not giving his screen name on here, but the numbers are in his sig as well. It's DD other then winter.

And btw, saying your tibby would wipe every Cobalt on this site is a completely cocky statement. You wouldn't have said it if you weren't trying to draw attention and trying to stand out.

That's fine. You should just choose your words better. You go on ANY car forums and tell them you built any kind of car and it'll whoop on any car on the site and you will instantly be looked at like a moron.
