SS or SS/SC?

235's are pushing the limit on the SS/SC 18's. 225's are the best for the stock wheels.

225s will rub and make loud noises as they catch the corner of the side skirt overlap in the fenders. It depends on how well the car was put together. I get rubbing on my passenger side but none on the drivers side with my 225/50R17 winter tires. The 3/4 inch of extra height might be the cause also.

225/40r18 will fit without any rubbing or fitment issues. i am running 225/40r18 yokohama parada spec 2s and i love 'em. so you shouldnt have any issues. good luck.

Easy fix, take off the wheel, push back the inner wheelwell at the same time applying heat to it with a heat gun, just until u feel the plastic start to give some. Hold it there and let it coo and ur laughin.

I love them... my buddy has them also... I have had no problems in 1000 miles, he's had his for 12,000 miles and not one problem! They don't seem to have quite the grip off the line... But they seem to grip as well if not better in cornering, and braking... in the snow and rain... THERE IS NO COMPARISON!

Original post was in regards to a 2006 SS 2.4 Not an SS/SC. These come from the factory with 17's.

Your rubbing because you got the 225/50's and not the 225/40's. Even though the stock tire size is 215/45 - when you switch to a 225/40 all you get is a wider tire with the same height as the 215/45/18. It's just the way the tire is built - even though the size would suggest it isn't at tall because it's a 225/40/18.

What's great about this is:
A. Your speedo will stay the same because of no height change
B. 215/45/18 give you limited choices (ONLY 4)
- While a 225/40/18 gives you 26 to choose from.

Sorry $200+ for this Pirellis is outrageous for that tire when you could get a BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW NT for $160 and it's a 10 times better tire.

Now obviously you don't always have to shop at Discount Tire I was just using it as an example.
