Trying to figures something out...

I just ordered a set of Ksports for my HHR...planning to setting them up as low as they'll go. I'm running a 17.5 cheap ass Drag wheel for the time being in a 42 offset. I'm wondering if I put 1" spacers on, will I have any issues with rubbing? I'm running 235/45/17's...I know the setup is a little different on the HHR then it is for the Cobalt. I'm planning on new wheels toward the end of the year when I have to replace the tires so I'm trying to make what I have work for the time.

17x7.5? u put 17.5

that sidewall might be a bit tall, but u can dial it in when u install them. since the tire is going to be alittle bulge-like plus a straight up wall of tire with no stretch u could run into fender issues with the 1inch spacers

or not i havent been up inside hhr fender wells

LOL, I'm retarded 99% of the time! Yeah I know it's going to be a hard question since this is a Cobalt forum but there's only a handful of guys running coilovers over on the HHR forum and as far as I know they all have just stock offset on the wheels with no spacers. If I was going to keep my wheels I'd just go ahead and get new tires to accomodate the coilovers and the spacers but I'm ready for some new wheels. I know we can run 5mm spacers on the stock studs but I don't think that'll make a difference at all. Damn

yea the 5mm spacer is minimal still gonna be a sunken battle ship haha

they just help with strut clearance. U should be able to get low and have it fit some what good with the 1inch adapters. its just that tire is pretty beefy with a tall side wall

just trying to picture what ur current setup looks like

if u run some 17x9 235/40 with out the adapter u will be in good hands

Damn son you are right on the money! Smaller spacers would be nice but then I'll have to either install larger studs (which I've never done) or shave my existing studs which I don't want to do.

I'm guessing my Ksports will allow me to run some camber and toe it in in the front, but not the rear?

aww yee, u can run camber which is good, toe is bad and an alignment will fix it

do u have any buddies in the area that can help with the installing/adjusting of the coils once u get them?

hhr has a solid rear beam too like cobalt? cant do much besides put the springs and shocks on and adjust damper

I've got someone that is going to help me install...I guess I'll take them to Kauffman to have alligned. I called the local speedshop this morning and asked if they did adjustment of coils and he was clueless (this is a very reputable shop that deals in imports). I did the install of my springs so I'm sure I can get them on with no problems.

the HHR has a solid rear beam just like the cobalt. I'm due for tires so I may just keep my crappy rims for another year and get some tires installed after I drop install the coilovers. I'll take the spacers with me so that they can get them on and figure out a tire to work. I appreciate all of your help!

Taxes already done and money received. Too bad I have too many other things I have to pay for.

Wheel spacers. If I want my stock rims to sit flush, what would I need? 1/4 inch?

u looking to run those adapter/spacers? or an actual spacer?

the smallest and safest adapter u can get is 19mm or just get the 1inch (~25mm)

spacer alone will need longer studs
