I have had my stock wheels painted for a year and a half now. They went through one winter and two summers. they look great for the first few months. Eventually they will get an occasional chip or two, which isn't bad but they will loose the super clean look that everyone wants on their car. So short term its a great cheap way of doing. So you basically pay for what you get. Be sure to prep them well and use primer, paint, and a few coats of clear. You want it to have a strong bond. But powder coating is a durable long term way of doing it. They will Stay "super clean" for a-lot longer.

mine ive had painted since may they have a few chips but paint is way cheaper then powder coating. i wouldnt paint them until after winter unless you want to speed up the chipping process

I agree with this guy^ unless you live in a hot desert I would wait until after winter. Just go hard and powder coat them or sell your wheels and get some aftermarkets.

powder coating will weaken the wheels and cant be touched up if chipped or anything..painting would be my choice it can be touched up and put on heavy so if anything minor happens you can wet sand a buff... then good as new
