Shipping Wheels/Tires???

Sold my stock 17's w/ pirellis mounted whats the cheapest way to do this? I assume i deflate them... but if i deflate them they wont come unmounted and they should be balanced once reinflated correct? trying to get them light as possible for shipping costs. anyone have experience with this?

well letting the air out won't make them any lighter. I'd just wrap them in something so the face doesn't get scratched along the way. Other then that box em up and ship em out.

my rims and tires came with cardboard over the face and rear. plus i think they were wrapped in bubble wrap with the big shipping straps holding them all together. seemed like a good idea. i dont know what shipping costs though, it was free for me.

I will typically deflate them, put some cardboard and bubble wrap in between the two faces, and wrap the two together with shipping tape. The cost has generally been around $100 to ship them due to size and weight.

Do you have the weight of each wheel, and the size of the box yet? And where are you shipping to?

Do you realize the tape on the box, and the shipping label weigh more than the air in the tires? Probably 100x more. Leave the pressure alone.

Fill each tire to the Max PSI with helium..that will make them lighter to ship........

hahaha
yea, deflating them will only help to save you with the dimensions, air doesn't weigh too much

UPS will charge an arm and a leg. USPS doesn't go by weight, they go by size. It'll cost about $100-$125 if you ship them as four individual pacakges which will be the cheapest you can do.

UPS wanted like close to $200 to ship my stock spoiler! USPS shipped it for me after I packaged it up nicely for a whopping $36 bucks insured, and that was from the east coast to the west coast!
