Ultralight 16 inches wheels in 5x110 for a Cobalt SS/SC ?
Hello guys,
I would like to know if it's possible to get ultralight 16 inches wheels in 5x110 for a Cobalt SS/SC ?
I mean is there anything like a Volk TE37 16x7.5 at 11 lbs ?
Maybe something more reasonable in pricing in the 16 lbs range or so ?
That bolt pattern is really problematic...
I tried searching by myself, I found some specimens, but all in the 20+ pounds range or so, not really worth switching... I will keep my stock 18s in that case.
Thank you very much !
Konnan

I searched more, the best specimen I found is an Andros Spec D at 16.3 lbs per wheel, quite affordable too.
What do you guys think about it ? Do you know if it will fit properly ? Do you know any better ?
I think those wheels with something like Continental ExtremeContact DW 225/55R16 that would make a nice light combo for a ~37 lb total per corner.
Thank you very much !

Hello again guys,
I'm wondering, do you think I will regret my choice due to the sidewall flex ? I think the ExtremeContact DW is a tire with really good grip and the sidewall should be quite stiff and I shouldn't loose too much in cornering.
In some way, I think it could be even a tire that is more forgiving a bit, instead of suddently losing grip with a 18,19,20.
What's your thoughts ?
Thanks !
Konnan

Maybe lapping 1-2 times by year, dragging 1-2 times per year, other than that it's my daily drive and I want to have more fun with it. Removing 10 lb per corner seems like a good idea... Also, it is quite affordable to do it... tires will be much cheaper in the long run, and if I hate it, they will become my winter wheels, so not a pure loss.
I agree with you, I could go with the 225-50s, still within the 3% limit.
But for the 45s, unless I go with 255s, that is not possible... and I do not think that you can fit 255s, unless doing serious mods, right ?
Even then, you cannot get 255/45/16 tires...
What is the largest you fit on stock wheels ? I heard on this forum that 235s can rub in the rear ?

You can fit any size tire you want, with spacers/adapters and the right wheel. If you're really that concerned about the speedo being off, the stock one isn't very reliable anyways, then get the right tire size for it. My tires match the stockers almost perfectly, but I still use a speedo app on my phone if I really care.

Grip wasn't bad, could have been a lot better, they aren't great tires. I just think they flexed or rolled too much in corners, that's why it destroyed them. Plus they just look too big lol
