your from Canada, so this info is unreliable to me here in Michigan. But its freaking sweet that you are getting one so early. You are talking about the SS Coupe and not the available allready Sedan? Right?

If so, then did you get any rebates/incentives for the 09 Coupe up there ?

You've already waited this long, I say hold out for an 09. They all come with Bluetooth connectivity and the option of having a USB plug in on the radio is easily worth the wait. The reconfigurable display will also be available along with new colors!

It won't be long now for an 09, 2 months max...

but davis.... even if the GMS (GM Discount) and the MSRP of an 09 SS/TC Coupe is the same as the 08... I doubt they will have 1500-2,000$ cash back..incentives, whatever u wanna call it.

So the way I look at it....is a USB port for my thumb drive and bluetooth intergration worth 1500-2000 dollars. You can discuss accounting and the idea of depreciation, but it is no matter. The cobalt I buy will be driven till it dies. And honestly, I am from Michigan bro. We get about 3 months of summer (Not even that nice of summer weather, just hot and humid) and I don't want my cobalt just in time to store it for the winter. I have no plans to have a separate set of snow/winter/AllSeason tires for my cobalt. So yeah.. I think I am still going with the 08, because I am impulsive and I want to enjoy it for the ass end of summer here. Being able to drive in August and September instead of waiting for the 2009 to hit stores is HUGE for me. I guessed if I lived in sunny state, your Cali, Arizona, Florida what have you, I would prolly end up waiting for the 2009.

BTW... if you paid 300+ dollars for the dealer stereo upgrade, I would say you got ripped off. Almost EVERY aftermarket head unit (CD PLAYER) has USB slots in the face for your thumb drive. My friend bought a non-mainstream unit from Wal-Mart for like 125$ and that bitch has a USB slot. So I am good, Thanks for thoughts. But this thread can be closed, I have decided to get an 08

Putting down payment on it this friday. Hopefully because it will be August this Friday (the 1st), the dealer will up the incentives from 1500$ to 2000$ back.

And in this country spares aren't required. The Corvette doesn't have a spare. Neither did the Grand Prix Gxp's.
And they all have "Run flat" tires. Basically tires with super stiff sidewalls that can actually keep the rim from touching the road with no air in the tire.......they're super hard to change tires on and very expensive.

They don't ruin the wheel......but they are very nasty to the guys in the shop that fix tires.

I'd rather keep it stock. I have a build date of 8/11/08...

As for the incentives...they'll be there...

If its only going to be a few months, I would rather wait and drp a few extra dollars to have a 09 coupe.

Any info appreciate.

What does it matter if it's an 08 or an 09 when it comes to your purchase decision? A new car is a new car. Theoretically an 09 could be built a week after an 08...it just all depends on when they decide the model year ends.

The only thing I can think about if your re-sale value on an 08 versus 09. Maybe the 09 might be worth more if you're going to sell it one day, but we all know the resale of the balts is **** anyway.

The vette has runflats. The Grand Prix Gxp does not. It has the inflator kit. The reasoning on that car was that the spare wouldn't fit in the well at the bottom of the trunk.

if your a guy who likes to trade in cars every 4 years an 2009 would be the better buy, because it will always be worth about 1500 dollars more than an 2008. You have to figure that as soon as you drive the 2008 off the lot you will lose the 1500 dollars you are saving now. You will pick up that 1500 dollars back on resale on the 2009. These were the words of my boss who has been the owner of our dealership for over 40 years

Also very true... and look at it this way... Take two of the same cars (same trim, options, etc)
and theoretically if they were to have the same exact miles on them which one do you think would get the higher price given at the same point in time?

If you must get the car now, then by all means get an 08, but if you can wait a couple months, and if you can afford to lose out on the $1500 for the 08 model then what's the rush?
(I know... you want it of course, and it'd be a tough call for me if I was in the same boat )
