no, 4-point is not required but it also doesn't hirt you in points.. but like you said, if it goes through the firewall then that'll cost you points.

I'll put in another good word for the XR1. Really unbelievable how great it is. HPSs are terrible pads. Don't waste your money. I made the mistake of running them one session at Thunderhill and they turned to mush.

I run XR1 front HP+ Rear. And just to ***** out some more: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-BjF21ufTA

Do your rear HP+ pads squeal? I assume you leave them in on a daily basis.

I'll second the HPS thing, I upgraded my rear rotors and pads, the HPS pads failed at a single event, the insides crumbled and forced me to trailer my car home for the first time ever. An embarrassment, in fact I emailed the seller and told them despite claim I want my fricken money back. So because the factory pads were indeed working for me, that's what I put back on. Key to brake fluid is to change it regularly since it soaks up moisture and that is what actually boils. Also black sludge came out of all my bleeders, I kept pouring in fresh fluid and pumping until this cleared up. I hate it for the next guy when I sell my car, unless they continue the tradition of use.

HP+ rear squeal I run HPS on street in the front when I'm not on track (only because I had them after they failed me on track, stock will be my next street pad). I wish we had drop ins on the rear calipers.
