Also, would the F40 from a G6 work (In FWD)? I am thinking F40, numbers being how much torque it is rated to, correct? That means it would hold more than the F35, plus its a 6 speed... much cheaper than the quaife 6 speed...
The G6 6 speed swap is somewhat in the works, but it needs the Saab bellhousing, which seems to be hard to come by.

Probably $12k-$15k

Man if i could get AWD for like say 5-7 grand, i would do that. When all is factored in

MSRP 25k
Bolt Ons before you go crazy 2k
Awd conversion - 6k
total 33k

New Evo-40k
new Sti-40k

haha am i missing something (besides being maybe real low on the awd conversion!)
The trans alone would be $4k, unless you went with a used one. Then there is the driveshaft, rear end, rear axles, rear suspension, fuel tank, etc...

also with awd...dont forget modifying the floor of the car for a driveshaft tunnel unless you want the driveshaft and transfercase close to the ground. also with electronic boost controllers.....they really arent ment to be toyed with that much. you tune for your boost levels. its pretty much the same with a manual boost controller aswell. your not going to just go out there and turn it to up your boost with out looking at what your doing to the car.

So Matt, lets just say, I had an extra 12-15k lying around and decided to go the AWD route (which I don't have that kind of money right now anyways lol), how long do you think it would take you guys to fab something up?

The transfer case is attached to the transmission, and last time I checked, Cobalts already have a tunnel.

This would be epic but alas makes no sense haha

Leveecius
it would probably take him about a day or two..

Step 1: Take your 15 grand.

Step 2: Go on autotrader and find an 03/04 Evo/STi in decent shape for that price

Step 3: Go buy it

Step 4: Give you the keys.

And now you have a turbo four bangor AWD potential monster....

oh and he added two doors for free!!!!!

Gotcha lol. Forgive me I haven't been under th car recently. The exhaust is offly tight up there so getting a driv shaft up there would be interesting. Regardless. I think some modification will be needed

There would be a learning curve there and parts to order and wait for. Honestly, it could take a couple months. If we did this on one of our cars first, it will be much quicker after that.

Haha! If I were to do that, I'd get a 1g Talon TSi AWD for about 2k, and drop 10k into it, have a 10 second car, and take it to the club and party. But again, that's just me.

Yeah I figured as much. That would be kinda cool though. Just don't see a lot of people doing it for 15g's. lol. Now the 6spd, I can see more people doing that though.

RPD Vs. Dyno

Anyone have RPD and compare numbers to dyno with bolt ons and tune? I have well, everything you see in my signature... bolt ons and trifecta tune. My car's RPD has said highest for both Hp and TQ are around 325 ea. That doesn't seem quite right for Crank HP and TQ. The tune gave me about 22 psi (spike). I've had a re-tune done, but it actually hindered performance a bit. I figured 320's or so should be numbers to the wheels, not to the crank (which is what I would figure the RPD to read). I haven't had a dyno yet, but I'll be tempted if I can ever get these numbers up a bit. I'm waiting on a new tune to come in, hopefully I can get these numbers up a bit. Just trying to get a feel for what other people are seeing. Thanks for any inputs...

Well, it is official, my car is bye bye for the deployment. Jus watched it drive away yesterday, the family came down to spend the day with me, then we loaded up all my suff and off they went. it was cool watching my dad,, who is a IL state cop, (master sergeant) drive it.. With the cutout open lol.. But it hurt so bad to watch it leave, few of u know what it's like, but for those who don't, it hurts no matter how much of a man u think u are. This will be my 2nd deployment, goin directly into the shitstorm this time. Iraq is bad, Afghanistan, is ******* extremely dangerous. so as I watched everybody drive away, I wondered if that was gonna be the last time I saw them. it's real ****. joke about it if u want.
