Ok so about 2-3 months ago i got on my car hard in 2nd gear and noticed when it hit right around 4 grand it would basically die on me untill I left off. I could cruise just find as long as i was under 4k. I also noticed alot of popping coming from the exhaust between 1-2 shifts and occasionally when coasting in a lower gear. I originally thought that it was bad fuel since I fill the tank twice a week and just started going to a new gas station. After switching gas stations it went away and i thought problem was fixed until recently It started doing it again. Now my new theory is that im getting water in somewhere because I realized that it only does it when it rains once it stops raining and I drive around for about 45 minutes it works just fine. Any help would be great

 

The misfiring could be a coil pack going bad and the loss of power could possibly be KR. Any codes?

I had the same happen to me. Car would die at 5,500 n up and pop n bang n stutter all the way to redline. I thought it was my catless dp (had a emissions code) put my stock dp in no engine light still does it. I out new plugs in, still does it..did a compression test, still dies. I'm taking the s.o.b in tmr lol

 

Stuff like this is why its nice to have a 5/100,000 warranty on the powertrain.

i dont have any codes at all and i still have the warranty since im still stock but everytime i get a chance to take it in it stops doing by the time i get to the dealer and you know how they work. it didnt do anything for us it must be fine. dam stealerships

Front O2, spark plugs, or Coil Packs. Im having a similar issue but it's above 6K that my car likes to misfire and die off. I just ordered a set of used packs on Ebay for $130, I didnt see any other sets tho, sorry!

Ill let you know if that fixes my issue

 

i had this issue. My MAF was loose. Reconnected the MAF and the problem was gone

 

^I also ordered another MAF, mine is in correctly but it was cheap, so worth a shot there too!

 

Hmm never assumed it was my maf sensors being loose, the car feels great when u hammer on it but after 5,500 ut feels like it starving from something. I got an appoinent tmr morning I am trying to get a hold of the shop supervisor to drive it, cause they always say nothings wrong blah blah

Is it possible that you are getting the coilpacks damp. I know on the Fords when you wash the engine bay water can pool in the valve covers where the coil packs are, and it causes bad misfires.
