GMS1 with bolt ons.
Wow on the filter thing, I've heard some horror stories latley of dealerships screwing people like not actually changing the oil and crap, on the parts and gms1 it won't really matter the tune is a "can" tune so ya get what ya get, if ya have the time before had go for it, ya I unplug when I put mods on, at first I thought maybe it would defeat the learn down
but the gms1 I believe it disables it, so you can do it for peice of mind I spose, older cars sure because its susposed to help the computer re-learn the new part

still havent figure it out. it makes the noise still but it is 10x quieter and not nearly as bad sounding as it sounded before. had the dealership replace the timing chains/tensioners/nuts bolts/timing chain guides. then after all of that (3 seperate trips and they kept my car for about 2 weeks each time) me and my buddy who works at the dealership were sitting there talking and he said when was the last time the oil was changed and i had changed it about a month before i brought the car in for the first time for the noise. so me and my buddy are sitting at the dealership talking and he checked the oil filter for some odd reason and the oil filter was crushed and twisted so not sure if this noise was due to the oil filter being crushed and twisted or what lol good thing i didnt have to pay for it lol
heres the video i have of it. since then they replaced all the parts i mentioned along with cam phasors/actuators also
the video is on a cold start
When i dynod with the stage kit and full boltons minus intake i put down 283/296. Wasnt too bad they did the pulls in 4th and as you can see not the best dyno

- The pigtails are not an official GM part ~ and as such do not have an actual part number, and can only be had from CED.
- The CED pigtails eliminate all the problems related to cutting ans splicing the replacement pigtails included with the stage kit
Also:
- You need to remove a small rib from the MAP for the lower charge pipe
- I needed to enlarge the hole for mounting the upper MAP (attached to intake)
There seems to be alot of misinformation in this thread...
The "learn down" is pretty much a stock thing ~ to do with the factory torque management and air load tables;
this is why the tourque band flatlines at 260

The percieved limits (erraneously called 'learn down') associated wit hthe air load tables ~ or what the ECM is shooting for...
On a stock, or GMS1 Cobalt SS/TC you will not "lose" power with bolt on's;
1) on a stock car the power band will move in accordance to responding to the parts, while retaining the same peak numbers.
2) on a GMS1 car, you will see benifits from aftermarket parts... up to a point
Trifecta tunes have, to the best of my knowledge NEVER been "found";
The TechII will discover any Superchips, or HPT tuning.
I believe that the only check for Trifecta tunes is to look for boost increase after hitting cruise control, or traction control buttons...
By the letter of the law, any car modified, and found to have issues which are related to said modification, are supposed to be red flagged, and lose their warranty;
If anyone here is using a dealer that turns a blind eye to them being HPT tuned ~ good for them ~ but they are lucky, and in the minority.
I hope some of this helped someone....
...
ok, I want to do one small correction;

It clearly states that ANY car like ours brought in for warranty work, is supposed to go through a specific process to try to prove weather or not it has an "aftermarket" tune on it;
if an "aftermarket" tune is found on it - the car is supposed to be red flagged.
period.
I'm glad you appreciate it.
Phone there ask for Tom - he is super quick, and should be able to tell you if there might be any delay in getting it to you ~ and by talking to him you can probably get the order put together quicker.

In addition to this, I have in with my paperwork some printouts given to me by an 'retired' GM service manager;

ive orderd wheel spacers through Tom @ CED. he got me what i needed and was totally cool with me trying the spacers out and if they didnt work or anything i was able to return it.
ill have to call him. im assuming that he only works M-F?
