I just got 2008 tc black cobalt and love the car so far but whats up chevrolet with this fixed mast antenna? The manual says "can withstand most car washes" oh thats nice of them."If the mast is badly bent then replace it"

Yeah, I've had my SS/SC for a little over two years, and while I try and avoid going through a car wash and always try and hand wash it, it's made it through every car wash I've been through. Now it's gotten really loose but still stays on. Just make sure to tighten it every once and a while.

Your best bet is to get a shorty antenna as mentioned, you can either buy one of D.I.Y and cut & crop your stock antenna.

I got a shorty antenna off of Ebay. I believe the guy I bought it from, his name was "Antenna-X".... I also think, that the antenna I got is like 12" tall.

guys...don't spend money. just cut the stock one off...peel off the wire wrapped around it....a little sanding and black paint and presto.....free shorty antenna any size that you want it.
