MAF Relocation - Hot or Cold side?
MAF Relocation - Hot or Cold side?
Just wondeirng why one would choose one over the other? IS there a difference? Which is better for a BOV? Currently Im selling my dejon setup to do something different and would like to convert to a ricer BOV and was wondering which to choose from, the ZZP Cold pipe with MAF relocation or Dejon Hotside with MAF relocation. Thanks
Cold side. Easier on the MAF sensor & the temps it sees are in the range the ECU control can adjust for. I doubt (but I don't know) if the ECU can compensate for 300*f+ air temps at the sensor.
I'm predjudiced though.

This seems pretty logical...the only trouble with the cold side pipe that I see is the fact that it seems like a PIA to remove and reinstall the new one...but I will be going through this soon enough...
Mike, how much are you selling your setup for?
Not sure, The cold just just before the IC has a smal dent from when i popped a coupler off. Doesnt affext anything, just the fact its there. Cant see it tho.

P.S. I'm still running the stock BPV, just wanted the MAF relocate for easier fuel trim tuning.

Took me about an hour and a half, but I had the sensors on the new CP before I crawled under. Would have been quicker but I had to take the couplers back off to get the cp in there, than reassemble it. Not for the faint hearted, you have to use the Force, Luke.
The factory wiring is long enough if you dress it back out of the loom.

The 3bar MAP sensors?!?!?! Ohhh boy... That would mean all you would have to do is buy them...and then get the stock stage tune from someone w/ HPT and flash it onto your car??? I'm assuming that's what Iam Broke did...
P.S. Any ideas when you guys will have the standard upper charge pipes back in stock?
Yeah I figured it would require a lot of patience as well as force lol. There's not a whole lot of space to work with down there...and when you have big hands...it really sucks *****

You don't need the sensors and harnesses for either MAF setup, but the GMS1 is a better base file for a mod car. Of course you need the sensors if you run that file.

Yes, and we have ECM cores in stock right now, and we can do the GMS1 flash or tune on the GMS1 base file.

Thanks for clearing that up
