Muffler delete??
I had a feeling someone would notice this.
Perhaps you have a point, as the reading I've done was mainly centered around other cars (IIRC, it was an STI site that did a ton of testing on this). My apologies for not clarifying.
I'm bored at work, so I'll see if I can dig up some info on this!

I always thought turbo cars liked as little restriction post turbo as possible but I've not seen any tests to back it up .
I went to an euro meet with my buddy and I drove the balt and everyone loved the exhaust sound.
As far as losing power cause of the muffler delete I would need to see some hard evidence cause our stock mufflers are straight thru design.

guys it's not power loss... not possible.. if anything it's power gain...
guy had stock car in link 260/260 limited - let's just say 15psi
guy cuts muffler still has 260/260 - but now only get "12psi"
but he's still making 260/260.. just needs less boost to make it.. thus doesn't feel the turbo as much because it's already making the power <-better
take a stock lnf... bore it out, intake, no cats, straight pipes, etc..... still make 260/260 with 5 psi boost

It was never about torque "loss" (on its own), but rather a shift in the powerband.
There are too many Google hits about this anomaly (between various cars) that there must be some truth to it.
Per the thread I linked on page 3, Ronn's findings (both personal, and internet links) proved to be most interesting.

F/I need to breath the more tha marrier... exactly the same when people remove cats.. and find how much quicker there turbo spools...
in all honesty though you don't do a muffler delete for power.. you do it for sound and maybe "weight"
Here are Ronn's findings - https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/5383699-post62.html
I'm assuming green is "free flow".

^interesting find...
hmmmm.. I just did my MD after owning the car a week and I noticed nothing but sound difference. i take it that graph is assuming cat delete or larger pipes or something.. not just a MD.. not to mention if he's on the same tune before/after those mods (that would make a difference in power)

but old tune.... that's the difference with stock the turbo will always make up for the difference
"In my car..as most tuned here...the torque curve is biased at lower/mid rpms. I know mine is for sure ..take a look:"
Anything you do to these cars will require a tune... since a tune won't "limit your power" he needs a re-tune... unlike the stock setting

Haha.. well I'm already there son :P midlife crisis that is lol.. I'm catless with stock catback muffler delete as well. It's loud as *** when you first start it up cause of the warm-up cycle, but once it's warm, it's as sweet a sound as you can get out of a 4 banger. Best of any I think; yet if you keep ur foot under control, it's not so loud to draw all the cops in your city to chase you down.. but when you do get on it lol.. expect some heads to turn :P I don't like the smell of the catless personally, but I'm sure you guys who do like it are probably running e85 or something good since ur in the good ole Usa.. I'm stuck up in Canuck land here eh? where our gas sucks azz. I don't get cracks and pops, but I do get burbles n grumbles.. love it
I should also note.. I had the ZZP head put on back in Oct/Nov and it's even louder now.. and deeper when you get on it.. I love it even more haha but it is loud cruising down the highway now.. I'll live, it's all good lol
