Nutty, an egr valve is an exhaust gas recirculation valve. It recirculates the exhaust gasses back through the intake. The ecotecs don't run one. However we do have whats called an evap purge valve which is what you bought and an evap purge solenoid which both allow built up fuel tank pressure to periodically vent to the intake manifold. Evap meaning the evaporating gasses coming from the fuel in your tank.

I knew what it does, since I replaced it. I was just going by the name on the part for the part number. As I said I thought the name seemed weird, but just figured, mah, whatever.
Anyway, the part number I provided was still valid to the OP's issue, which is all I wanted to supply.

You have a Cobalt in the UK? That's gotta be kinda funny.

Sure does sux when you need parts...

Get lots of looks and lots of people asking about it. Turns a lot of heads.
People rolling down their windows asking while driving everything.

Would be nice to just drive over to ZZP to do some shopping though.
Can't buy anything now.
Shipping plus the duty adds up to more then what I'm spending on the product...

They probably look at you like, "Hey, you're driving on the wrong side of the car!." Can you get that turbo Focus over there?

The focus RS would be awesome if we could get it over here. No offense but I would drive one of those over a cobalt in a second. I get what your saying by the way, thanks for the input.

You mean c30 polestar with 420hp. The s60 is a sedan that looks like the new sonata.
