stage 2 guys are screwed
your post was worded to make it seem as though the cobalt beat the vette. I know what im talking about with the lsx motor pretty well. Your post just could have been worded better. No hard feelings
I see now why you would have thought the corvette wasn't racing
I see. Well, I guess it could have been worded a bit better, but it was implied and meant that the SRT can beat a stock LS1. The whole point was to say that on the same dyno, my SS/SC with intake/exhaust puts down 229 to the wheels.

Well with LSx motors in question, I have some info. LS1 motors whether it's in a Vette, F-Body, or GTO, 350hp 365tq, now that is for 2001 and up, 97-00 LS1's were 345hp and I think the tq was the same. The F-Body #'s were underrated (see a GM trend here) at 305HP 98-00 Z28/TA's and Formys and 310HP for 01-02 Z28/TA/Formy, while SS's and WS6's were 320HP 98-00, 325HP 01-02. I've seen stock Vette's F-Bodys and 04 GTO's all Dyno within 10hp of each other. LS1 is a LS1 is a LS1(quoted from LS1tech.com) LS2 Vettes and GTOs tend to Dyno anywhere from about 335 to 360 stock. But a 300Whp SRT4 will beat the 300whp Vette, SRT4 does have the advantage of weight.
As far as TC vs S2 SC, only time will tell. We need a nice overall test, the Dyno, then the same driver in both cars take them to the 1/4 mile and average 3 runs a peice. That "Should" settle the question.
That's my .02 for the evening.

Well, I am gonna put a ss/tc on the same dyno I've been too numerous times. It's not as exact as putting on two cars the same day but it will definately be a good comparison. If I can find a stage 2 car, I'll get it on there too. I just don't know of anyone local with a plain 'stage 2' car.

every car is different. every dyno is different. im more apt to believe a low reading dyno vs a superomgwtfbbq dyno number.
keep in mind, this is just one car i drove. so we shall see what happens.

I have a sinking feeling the higher up you go, the more screwed S2 gets.
The PCM is supposed to try to keep that 260/260 no matter what, ya?
Good luck for us people a mile up then... if the PCM really does boost the **** outta the motors up here, S2 is gonna be in more than a few rearviews.

Will do. I am sure it will be a while. I can at least give you my .02 on the seat of the pants feel when I drive one.
I trap 105 on hot days and almost 109 when its cold out. When the ss/tc slips some if they are not within 105-109 they won't walk me from a roll anyhow. Their torque however will definitely help off the line and the no lift shift helps too.

i know i dont have driver mod 11.9 like others on here, but you dont need any driver mod to just do a pull on a freeway. i wasn't impressed.
that was just comparing what i feels like my car does compared to this one.

But that might be offset a bit by the SS/SC's more aggressive final drive ratio (4.0x vs. 3.8x if I remember correctly).
hell, I even forgot that. same exact trannys except the ss s/c has a bit more aggressive final drive. That has a small amount to do with it.
as soon as the beta is aval. it will not be so close. stage 2 with intake and exhaust against stock ss/tc will be very close my car with a 3in 42.5s and intake and exhaust trapped 103. which is what I have heard the ss/tc can do stock.....time will tell.
So here's my question.. when Hahn comes out with a tune for the cobalt ss/tc what are the stage2 folks gonna do?
they took the HHR SS from 248whp to 283whp which i'm betting with a decent drive is low 14s.
so the question is... if that fat ass HHR SS can pull 283whp, i'm betting that the cobalt ss/tc can pull that also, and its what 350-450lbs lighter? if that cant pull low 14s to high 13s i dont know what can.
I say that ss/tc (both hhr and cobalt) is an easy 300+ hp engine.
By the way:
for the record I'm a 06 ss/sc owner and absolutely love it, however I think i'm going to trade to an HHR SS because I need the extra room.

Once I see a stock ss/tc pull a 2.2 60' and run 13.7-13.8 I will give it some more credit. I will determine how I personally think they are once I test drive one. Hopefully they get one in here soon.
I pull 2.2 60's on street tires hot shot. I don't think that is too bad. No matter what 60' I had my traps were all consistent through out that same given day.
