Steering Wheel Vibration at Highway Speed
Steering Wheel Vibration at Highway Speed
My steering wheel is shaking at highway speeds. The vibration peaks at around 100 km/h and disappears above or below this speed.
I have new continental extreme contact DWS06 tires that were installed and balanced last week.
The front hubs have less than 10,000 kms on them.
The driver side front rotor was cracked and replaced last week. There is no pulsation in the pedal during braking, so I think the other rotor is fine. There is nothing visually wrong with it either.
What could this be?

I'm on stock lnf wheels.
I have the same tires. My first new set pulled to the right. They replaced them and the pull went away. May not be your same problem, but at least one tire shop mentioned to me that they have seen issues with new Continentals. I did not have a vibration with mine.
Any idea how to isolate for this issue? I looked at my axles (not the cross shaft) and didn't notice any missing weights, or any weights for that matter.
Crap... Did you warranty through continental?
