Terrible rattle!
Terrible rattle!
I have a rattle coming from the back of the car where the child seat connectors are. What is rattling because I have heard about but am not sure what it is.
omg thats where the noise in my car is coming from.
i thought it was the metal clips that hold on the rear deck carpet... no
and then i thought it was my retro 3rd brake light...
and it still does is. someone please help us!! lol
yea i had the headrest off and half of the back end of the car taken apart. i though i fixed it, but couldnt find anything... i will try a few more things when its not raining. have you tried anything?
and is it when you hit bumps you can hear it? even little ones?

I found a couple things that rattle in the rear...
1.) The plastic covers that go over the connector whatevers for the rear defroster, they're held on quite loose and can rattle around. I secured them.
2.) The cables that run from the puller to the rear seat latch (for the fold down function) is noisy as all hell. I tried to muffle it by putting door insulation foam stuff in a few places where they could touch the metal frame in the rear.

I do have a loud knock (which hopefully is being fixed at the dealership like I FREAKING told them to, again!)...it sounds like it *could* be coming from the rear when it happens, but I know it's the door striker or the striker plate...either way if you grab the round piece where the door hinge latches onto and pull hard you can hear a crack sound. It amplifies due to the weight and hollow design of the door.
That said problem only happens over harder bumps or a bump in mid corner.
Just a thought.

The onstar brain is on top of the rear deck, under the cover. Wonder if its possible that is causing any noise. Wouldn't think so, but who knows.
My car is a rattletrap just like every other GM I've owned, turn the radio up and they go away

Someone did a how-to on it, here's the link:

Those pictures don't perfectly explain how to get the seats off, so if you have any other questions feel free to PM me.
