Terrible rattle!

I have a rattle coming from the back of the car where the child seat connectors are. What is rattling because I have heard about but am not sure what it is.

Like I was saying.. Subwoofers will rattle the entire car. Inside and out. Something could have gotten loose over the years.

Check the retaining clips and pivot points for the reat seats... Mine made more of a squeak than a rattle, but a little bit of tape to snug everything together worked wonders.

I found a couple things that rattle in the rear...

1.) The plastic covers that go over the connector whatevers for the rear defroster, they're held on quite loose and can rattle around. I secured them.

2.) The cables that run from the puller to the rear seat latch (for the fold down function) is noisy as all hell. I tried to muffle it by putting door insulation foam stuff in a few places where they could touch the metal frame in the rear.

I do have a loud knock (which hopefully is being fixed at the dealership like I FREAKING told them to, again!)...it sounds like it *could* be coming from the rear when it happens, but I know it's the door striker or the striker plate...either way if you grab the round piece where the door hinge latches onto and pull hard you can hear a crack sound. It amplifies due to the weight and hollow design of the door.

That said problem only happens over harder bumps or a bump in mid corner.

Just a thought.

The onstar brain is on top of the rear deck, under the cover. Wonder if its possible that is causing any noise. Wouldn't think so, but who knows.

My car is a rattletrap just like every other GM I've owned, turn the radio up and they go away

Someone did a how-to on it, here's the link:

Those pictures don't perfectly explain how to get the seats off, so if you have any other questions feel free to PM me.

Maybe check and make sure your rear seats are fully locked in the up position. Mine came unlocked just slightly and they rattled over every damn bump. Again just a thought...

Fold down the rear seats and see if it goes away....then you know it's the rear seat latches.
