tuner who never tuned a cobalt before

like the title says, would you let a tuner who never tuned a ss/tc before tune your car? im trifecta tuned right now and im happy with the tune, but i've been working with a shop recently and he wants to retune my car with HPtuners, he wants to do 2 dyno pulls to see where i am first, see how the car does up top, see if its leaning out at all, and he is claiming he'll get me more power. He is very reputable and every car he has tuned he got more power then the cars previous tune, and he tunes everything, and travels around the world to tune, sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

the links didn't work but i would say no, unless you don't love your motor or you wallet
instead of asking about the power his cars make, ask about longevity that's what matters
a dyno is just a tuning device remember that

the only reason why i am coming off the way i am is because i made the same mistake and had to rebuild my motor because of it. a lot of tuners are not use to tuning for DI, especially when it comes to the realm of AFR.

I would say im biased on this one lol if he knows HPT like the back of his hand, warranties his work, knows turbos, and everything then MAYBE but here people have HPT but they dont know about our features like FPR adjustments, the direct port injection, etc. you need a reputable LNF guy if you want HPT that bad call Term2, M dub, or some of the other guys who tune this every day. Just sketchy my friend

Absolutely not, if he looks at the a/f tables he'll say they're too lean and richen them up i'll bet.

I let my tuner tune my LAP and change VVT. He never had experience with the LAP or VVT before me.

I wouldn't, and I didn't. I went with trifecta cause I had no reputable tuners around my area. If I could do it all over again, I'd go into HP tuners and have someone from this site tune it.

You need a tuner that knows Lambda tuning and Direct Injection.

a shop that specializes in ls motors still wouldn't know how to tune for the DI motor and that is the most important factor that people fail to realize

vvt and direct injection are not the same, all motors have some aspect of variable valve timing

get it tuned by a tuner that know the car dude
