I remember reading an article about some type of higher-end Porsche where upgrading to ceramic brakes was a $10,000 option available to purchasers. Thats about half of the price of our car, give or take. See where im going with this?

I mean these people's complaints, really ...

"I think maybe, possibly, I might have heard a squeak"
"The dash panel is off by 1 millimeter"
"My big clumsy feet scuffs the door panel"
"If I tug at the interior parts long enough, they eventually come loose."
"There's no Titanium in my car!"

Honestly, I've never heard such a big group of whiners in all my life.

Oh well, at least I don't drive a German car that has an animal's name in it.

(which btw, costs MORE than my SC because I got a $2500 Rebate)

I love/loved the cobalt... honestly did/do...

The ext styling is pretty sweet and the driver hud is very nice as well...

I personally just had ALOT of problems w/ the car (over 20 trips to service center, and each trip was never for just 1 thing)

If I had a friend who was looking for a low priced, fast ass car to beat around in I would recommend the cobalt...

My needs are changing now... commuting 60+ miles a day, talk of kids in a year...

My 05 SS no longer fit my needs.

Edit: I didn't intend my comment to spark a flame (lol) honestly... I was just giving my 2C on my personal experience with the build quality, which seems a lot of ppl agree with and have had similar issues.

I often recollect the fun 'ol days of my 5L Stangs.

In Power vs. Dollar, the Cobalt SS's are the 5L Stangs of yesterday. Were those cars perfect?

Nahh. But they were still great. Some of the common problems encountered with my Stangs were:
  • T5 Tranny was famous for weak 2nd/3rd gear synchros (replaced them often)
  • Earlier models had 7 1/2" ring gear which was, marginal at best (I remember snapping one at the starting line of a dragstrip)
  • Etc., etc.

But those cars were easy to work on, responded well to mods, had a huge after market, and were affordable.

Enter .... the Cobalt SC and SS/T!

Umm quick ? here. Does anyone clean their interior at least twice a week? You know shampooing the carpet, vacuming it, cleaning and treating the leather seats, cleaning the plastic, and windexing the glass?

I probably take care of my car way more than half of you on here and this **** still happens? It's not the driver.

It's the POS car that we call a Cobalt... And the only reason why half of us probably got the SS/SC, or SS/TC was because they were fast and cheap.... Well I learned my lesson with the SS/SC, great car overall, fun, looks great, and is reliable, but I'll never go cheap for fast ever again...

if you guys have so much to complain about the cars interior, then why did you buy it?
Were you guys blindfolded when you bought the car? I mean come on, what do you expect out of a $23,000 car?

Man...all you guys who are complaining about the interior...you should have shopped for a brand new Cadillac CTS for $23,000. I know those are just swarming the dealer's lots at that sticker price...

You need to be realistic...we bought economy cars...

Before this, I drove a 1999 Chevrolet Tracker with a sticker of $16,000. This seems like luxury to me...

Excellent Analogy! (no sarcasm)

05+ Cobalt SC/TC = 87-93 5.0s... hehe...

Yeah, well hey glad everyone here is happy with their cars though that's what matters. I'm happy with mine too overall but just not with the quality of the interior...

But whatever I'm glad I leased mine, and it goes back in like 10 months, I'll look into the SS/TC as a last resort if I can't get a 09 Solstice Coupe GXP, or maybe 1-2yr old, low miles, used 350Z...

Yep, I really do enjoy my car even after 25k km's! I like the interior, I LOVE how aggressive looking the car is on the exterior. My non Recaro's are comfy on my fat ass.
This is a GM economy product, there are going to problems with it... lets face it. As I type this, my car is at the shop getting some warranty work done to it. Nothing major. The sun roof rattles when fully open, one of the trim strips on the roof came unglued and my rims are being painted black as they were peeling. I do have a minor rattle inside, a mysterious squeak that is irritating the hell outta me, and that is all.
All in all, I think this is a good car. I like it, I catch a lot of people gawking at my car when I drive through town. Its a lot better than the Cavalier I had before.

You mean trade in?

As I had mentioned on another thread, Edmunds.com said 16.5k. I figured 17-17.5k trade in with the dealer installed/warrantied Stage 2 and the 5 month old all season tires.

Performance > interior quality any day
if you pull at any car's interior long enough it will fall apart

OTHER PERSON- "Yeah, my car is fassst !"

ME- "Oh Yeah! But my car's interior will beat your car's interior any day of the week!"
