You don't realize how....
i totally agree with missing the balt.... at least your able to go back and get in the seat and drive.... i lost my balt to a bad accident early last year... since then i have retained salvage and in hopes to one day being able to enjoy it again.... i found it incrediblely tough to go from a decent sports cars to a 4 dr civic base model.... to this day i hate the pos and unfortunately still driving it....
i miss going on long drives in it, i miss tinkering with it, and most of all i miss the feelings i got from stepping in the gas.... for those who complain about these cars and moan and gripe.... i dont understand how? what did you own a vette previously? all i am saying is these cars are not the best however very enjoyable to drive... they are a high quality car in all areas of cars.... great handling, power, appearence, and interiors.... very comparable to anything in its class.... i believe none of you will ever appreciate how enjoyable these cars are til you loose yours.... unfortunately i hate to see it happen to anyone.... the one thing nobody ever mentions about cobalts is its strength in its unibody.... truth to be told even if my air bags did not deploy, due to a malfuntion, the car saved mine and my sons life.... if i was driving a cavy or something else i may not be here to make this post.... it did its job in a rear crumple zone... to this day i stare at it and wish it wasnt sitting in my backyard all messed up....
i read once when i first posted in css.net that not many cars repay you with a smile unlike these ones.... it was 100% correct.....
i sure smile everytime i heard it whine.....
thats a statement i believe anyone can agree with....

nothing's like a supercharger whine but I still smile every time I hear mine whistle and whoosh haha
^^^^ thx man....... it was a statement for all to read.... one that makes you think twice when people complain.... the truth is these cars are freakin awsome.... i worked on and driven so many makes and models that most of you dream of.... dollar for dollar pound for pound this car is truely amazing 4 cyl...
My buddy still drools over my cobalt (use to be his) and today he just had sort of a break down moment lol, i love it the more i stare at her. i almost painted it to til the forum made me step into the light.
i miss my 98 passat, which is broken in my driveway, but only because it's slammed on some BBS's and handles like it is on rails. one day i'll fix it and plaid the headliner and put it back in.
i drive the wifes 2.5 altima auto from time to time, def. a big change in power output from the SS/TC to the Altima ha.

My GF drive an 06 328xi. When I drive that, I DON'T miss my cobalt
I actually dread getting back into it. Sure it's faster, but the BMW drives and handles 100x better. My next car will certainly be a BMW.
Edit: Don't hate, I know they are more expensive. But it's money well spent after you spend some time behind the wheel of one.

you aint lying, now that i took the pinstripe and the rear badge off it's looking really flush now im loving it, looking for someone gud with electrics i want to swap out my gauge cluster leds for yellow one's. i think removing the wing and trying to get the SS coupe rear spoiler would be the next exterior mods..
Damn man srry bout the ride...smdh / well on the bright side the leather doesn't look scratched.

lol i feel you those were nice recaros.... but like you said on the bright side this is the current balt minus the cf hood, splitter and some other stuff
and also its not hard to change the leds in the gauge cluster, or any of the leds in the interior like the hvac controls, steering leds, and window switchs... and the coupe trunk doesnt fit the sedans im pretty sure, unless ur jus talkin about the wing
tmazss i am glad to hear you made it out ok.... i didnt flip however some guy rearended me going about 100+ km and man i will tell you straight up.... i was out cold and my son woke me up.... i never wanna feel that way again......

as you can see he definately made some serious contact on the wheel... and pretty much that was the main contact point.... i am lucky the car gave in like its suppose to.... and i walked away with a major concusion and other various related injuries.........
the best part is my car(named it eddie) will live again in a diff shell.... stay tuned i will be creating a thread of its reincarnation.... when i buy a new shell... some lucky donor car will become a ss/sc g85 full load.... and it will also see all its perfomance, appearence, and interior mods..... now thats a lucky car.... hahahahahahaahah

when i said i have driven alot of cars and worked on them i kinda meant it.... i been in the industry for 20 yrs now and i have driven cars such as lambos, stangs, bmw's, audi, vettes, i think you get the picture... IMHO these balts are some of the best cars ever made and i would put my life on it.... wait i did put my life on it.....

Iron Maiden fo life!
tell ya the truth i am a appearence specialist.... i mainly just make them look pretty now.... i do work for a performance shop tho... so as you can imagine i have done my share of learning mechanical side too.... i also have body shop exp... i am only 37.... however i been playing with nice cars since my first one....(turbo daytona).... it never gets old, i just wish it paid better.... hahahahhaah btw i truely believe in "PURA VIDA IRON MAIDEN" hahahhaahahah god i bet you would have loved the way my car used to look like.....
I had a base model HHR as a rental when my cobalt was getting the ignition replaced. I loved how much storage space it had, I could just throw whatever I wanted in the back seat and trunk. I liked the interior, and the fact that I could take a dip at 45 mph and not worry about scraping. It got great gas mileage too. Now the downsides, it felt really unstable at any speed over 70mph, and if I took a turn any faster than 20 I thought I was going to topple over. It also had no top end...whatsoever. I'd still most definitely consider it as a DD though. I also kind of treat my cobalt like a mini closet, I have a red fleece blanket that I keep in there year round(for random beach trips), a few pairs of heels, shirts, bags of stuff from when I went shopping, and the trunk has a bunch of car parts. It is still clean though!
@that video...was that same guy hanging out the window in all the clips...wtf
