08 SS/TC Custom Intake

Just got finished making a custom intake for the 08 SS/TC. Man this thing sounds AWESOME! It actually sounds like a turbo'd car now!

The nice thing about it is I did not have to spend one penny!!

Enjoy!

Sold them. I'm making myself another pair just like those but with TL Projectors this time.

Yes you are correct. I just had to make an opening and screwed it down Beats the hell out of paying $200+ for something like that.

Spend a few more $ and get a new clamp -- that one has spots and rust on it and detracts from a new-car appeal

Looks great. I wonder how the computer likes the extra boost. Might make it amazing with a tune if you are seeing 3 more psi.

I used an old intake from one of my previous cars and cut the pipe, made a slot for the MAF and drilled it in!

Yes sir, I'm also on HPT so that's probably another reason why I saw such a big gain.

No codes, I didn't put oil on the filter.

Yeah as I stated above, I'm on HPT running about 25 PSI now.

I just thought I would give it a shot with all the stuff I had laying around. It sounds AMAZING, no need for a BOV.

I just tried to make a vid for you guys but it sounds like crap, you really can't even hear it on the video. Now I know this camera definitely wasn't made to take vids, only pics

Hmmmm.....wonder how much warmer the temps of the air are going into the filter now that you're pulling air right next to the engine???

Personally, I like your creative thinking in putting something like that together. But at the same time, I would rather have slightly less boost with colder air than more boost with hotter air.

Yeah I was wondering the same thing. Wont you just be pulling in all the heat from the engine bay?

the intercooler is far sufficient enough to take car of that... 3psi is probably deff making up for the 10* increase in air temps
