2010 Cobalt SS/TC Stage 1 test drive!
Its understandable. But see where people are failing to realize is that GM has to make a tune that is suitable for all states emissions wise and the ability not to blow up the car. I am not a hard core all racer and I use my car for a DD so the stage kit gives me more hp and tq and keeping my warranty intact. Dealers probably cant detect the hidden tune but if something serious happens and need a new turbo or engine the first thing they do is dissect the pcm.
Understandable. That is the reason I have a mild tune really. All I have is the Trifecta tune and the muffler delete and thats the numbers I put down. I have had the tune on now for 5,000 miles no trouble. Its all in how you drive it really. What I am saying though is since GM is pushing 23 PSI and I am pushing 22 and making more hp than the GM tune will you can see the bigger picture. Their tune is not the greatest safety is in the eye of the beholder.
Ok... i dont understand why its so hard for people to understand that the SAME people who designed the learn down in the first place, have removed it... i mean, boost is a measurement of restriction(if the air is getting in and out of the motor faster it wouldent be able to make pressure)so if you upgrade exhaust/intake, your going to make more power on the same level of boost... its not rocket science here.
One question,is this kit available to buy for the 08/09 SS, or only the 10 model? I wondered if maybe the whole ECU is different in the 10 or something.... why does everyone keep saying there trading there car in for the 10...?

Bill, will a "free'r" flowing intake and exhaust added to the Stage 1 void the warranty?
(I don't want to turn this thread into a K& N argument thread. They are oiled properly from the factory but when the end user cleans them and re-oils them, a lot use way too much oil and that plays havac with the MAS)

Kiit is for all 2008, 2009 & 2010 LNF (Turbo Powered) Cobalts
It is a little far for me to drive in a coupe of hours.
The only warranty issue I have ever heard of with with an intake is Mass Airflow Sensors being damaged due to over oiled K & N filters. So in general adding a intake will not void the warranty.

Thanks for answering the intake question, I know youre probably sick of all the warranty questions. Once again, thanks for coming on here and humoring all of us...its great to have someone like you answering our endless amount of questions
some people want to stay completely stock or with the GMPP upgrades only. So stop comparing that to other tunes. Of course there will be aftermarket tunes that are better big deal they dont belong in this thread.
Why would bill be here to try and turn people in? 1. he doesnt know your name, 2. your car vin 3. where you live. He has openly expressed that he enjoys seeing the afterk market products at the CED meets. Just be glad you didnt buy a evo

Check out the "who's online" page. We usually have a number of unregistered people that is about half or more the number of total members online at any one time.
It's the one you don't see that'll get you...
