Possible leak

so like many here, suddenly received a "low coolant" notification a few days ago. Took the car to my pop's shop (GM mechanic of 30+ years) and he hadn't seen this issue before. Now granted, he probably didn't have many turbo cobalts come in where he works but he was trying to assure me that the engine was built solid. Reading threads here and seeing my build date (10/08) worried me beyond belief. I bought my SS sedan stage one from a used car lot late 2015 with no problems. He put in some of the ac delco sealant tabs and that has seemed to stop any more leaking. Didn't find any coolant in the oil yet.
Still owe over 10K on the car (65k miles) and am definitely not wanting to buy a new engine. Dad will probably do it free of charge (albeit a longer repair time) but if it comes down to it, if anyone can present a few replacement options that would be helpful. I've seen some zzp recommendations and some who advise against zzp blocks. So if this has happened to anyone this late into owning an 08-09 Ss cobalt...please share some thoughts.

But the warranty expires after 5 years regardless correct?

Yes no one has a GM warranty left. Anyone oweing 10k on one of these got screwed on their purchase. No way a 6-7 year old cobalt is worth that much. You could maybe get very freaking lucky and find a used engine, but 3-5k is gonna be needed for an LDK. Sorry about your car

If your turbo is still ok you can get a new ldk long block setup from ZZP for just over $2k. It's a brand new engine and sand cast verses foam, so it's better.

X2
There's no reason to worry about the zzp LDK.

zzp has a LDK shipped for 2300....

Just get intake and exhaust manfiold gaskets, serpentine belts, change the trans fluid.. Do it while you're there.
