Any Negatives With Muffler Delete??
i have a magnaflow muffler on and it is still too quiet, an you believe i want to hack off magnaflow and now just go muffler delete??
i heard there is no CEL,
1. but if inspection place see's no muffler is that automatic failure?
2. any loss of backpressure which might mean loss of torque?
3. are those popping backfiring noises loud and frequent?

I have muffler delete on my MS6 and all i can tell you about the backfiring popping is that it is not frequent, but on my car when it happens you can hear it from blocks away, but other then that i love it!

1. but if inspection place see's no muffler is that automatic failure?-----not that im aware of. if worst comes to worst. just put the stock muffler back on
2. any loss of backpressure which might mean loss of torque?-----Turbo doesnt need backpressure----
3. are those popping backfiring noises loud and frequent?-----not too bad
FYI dont go catless DP and straight pipes

well i guess the 65 i paid for magnaflow muffler and 50 i paid to have it put on isn't that bad of a loss. i'm just really disappointed in sound of the magna, not much better than stock.
how much would a muffler shop charge to hack off magnaflow and put in straight pipe and weld stock tip to straight pipe?
and where would they do the initial hack? behind where the coupler piece was welded on to fit the magnaflow muffler??

Had mine chopped a few days ago, the muffler guy said it would be "loud as ****!" He was surprised by how nice it sounded after it was complete, we even took it for a quick spin. He charged me 25 bucks and did an outstanding job...only took 25 mins. I love the sound the car produces.

okay,
Muffler Delete:
I have it and LOVE it. Full exhausts on this car yield little HP for the $$ spent.
My shop charged me $90.
They cut the muffler off and welded a straight pipe on.
You won't automatically not pass inspection as the muffler has nothing to do with emissions, more sounds.
You do not lose back pressure as the turbo creates enough back pressure itself - that's where the "gurgling" comes from.
The "gurgling" or back pressure sounds are not that frequent and not that loud. It sounds bad ass and not like your typical "weed whacker" sound.
I cut my muffler with 400 miles on the car if that helps you!

If you look up posts on here showing the muffler itself (I saw venom09s first-hand in his garage) and hear the car after, it is a very non-restrictive design and honestly the noise level increase isn't as great as you might think. As far as being legal, it's just as quiet as a free-flowing aftermarket exhausts and definitely quieter than the typical coffee can exhausts you hear on a daily basis. If you want to know how it sounds in a video, go look up posts made by venom09 as his are all filmed w/o the muffler installed...you'll be surprised at how it sounds I think, but it's not obnoxious or overpowering .
