best mods with gm stage 1 kit?
^^ no its a canned tune. its not like a trifecta/HPtune when you add mods later you dont get retuned.
when you go trifecta/HPT you can get retuned for that mod. but with GMS1 you wont see the full gain of the mod but you will see a small gain

I could have sworn on the Dyno thread I saw some GMS1's with K&N SRI and a Downpipe putting down 300 hp and definitely over 300 tq.
Is it really minimal or will it still be noticeable?
Just got my gms1 put in, took 3 hours at dealership cause crate engine deput forgot to send my 10$ wiring harness. I am very pleased with the outcome though, car has really opened up, makes me question myself for not doing this alot sooner. I also have the k&n sri ordered last week as per everyone's suggestions. That should be in next week sometime, takes a bit long cause I live in Canada. Anyways Id like to thank everyone for their thoughts and suggestions

Well there is only 1 car i have saw on here wittb GMS1 who layed down 299whp i think he had an intake and dp and maybe IC pipes.
Like a trifecta tune or HP tune, you get the full 8 to 12hp. With GMS1 i believe its half of that. Maybe more. Someone can correct me if im wrong but from what ive read on here thats how it is with GMS1. It all depends on your altitude also.

Im to the point were ill call around to other dealers with in an hours distance, but im just gonna go ahead and void it, everyones talking about how amazing the sri and dp sound. waiting till 2015 isnt an option haha
my state has no emissions, but i want to go catted due to the who CEL deal, and i dont really want the whole raspy sound, any suggestions?
That's what I did when I had my own cobalt ls. The dealership I bought it from sad if I put any aftermarket parts on it they will void my warranty. So I called around and started taking into a new dealership
I myself wanna see max HP gains from my car as I will be getting a hahn DP and upper charge pipes and forged BPV . it all seems like a waste if I have GMS1. I wanna keep my warranty is what im concerned about but if trifecta can "hide" the tune and they think I have GMS1 then that would be great lol
Yea you can get trifecta ontop on GMS1. But depending on what you go in for warranty work, if the dealership digs far enough theg will find the trifecta tune. GMS1 is pretty legit with a intake and DP. Id like to see the full benefits on my intake,DP,cat back and IC pipes lol but warranty is key. Sinces ive been in a ton for warranty work im sticking with gms1

Long Term Fuel Trim ...... its an average of Short Term Fuel Trims (STFT) . Basically it tells you if the car is running rich or lean (+ is Rich...- is lean) . Most people like to see trim + or - 5% ...... the closer to 0 is better. Our cars wont set a code till + or - 20% .
My car with a K&N SRI got as high as +11% LTFT before my tune was adjusted for it . Now it stays around + or - 3%.

I have heard so many mixed reviews on catted and catless. IDK what to do. I was literally about to "checkout" on a HAHN catted DP and stopped myself.
I like both I guess and not sure how strict emissions are. I have my friend that works for GM and will pass me for inspection, but I dont wanna rely on him. There are plenty of "run down" shops here that will be happy to take your $15 inspection money any day and pass you.
Just overall not sure what the heck to get anymore. I like the fact that catless is $100 cheaper though lol

It's hard to say what the code is from ..... usually it take awhile for LTFT's to change so 5 mins wouldn't do it ....but it could be stft's or maf related . Now that it's on there right.... I would unhook the battery for 5-10 minutes and clear the codes and see if they come back......if they do.... take it a place like autozone and have them check the code for you .
My experience with charge pipes is this .... when I installed the CIA hotside CP's my IAT2 ( Intake Air Temp 2 ....after the intercooler ) temps when up like 20 degrees when sitting and took a lot longer to come down after moving compared to the stockers. I've been boosting 24psi for years on the stockers without issue and didn't notice any performance difference between the two.
