They must have the motors just sitting waiting to be shipped ?

I thought getting a new motor would take a long time...

Thats nuts dude that they are sending you a new motor..

I wonder in the Service manager is just fliping you and GM some BS so he can pocket the LNF for himself....

I wouldn't want my motor and trans re-installed by some n00bs at a po-dunk service department.. You are just asking for more problems..

While they have the trans out if you got the dough I would get a clutch upgrade kit and see if they will put it in for you under the table.. **** thats a lot of work and you wouldn't ever have to touch the clutch again !

I don't think he's going to keep anything, when i had a faulty thermostat it was sent back to gm for analysis.

no ill be good with the stock clutch, im not gonna be doing much to the car except stage 1 upgrade and intake and intercooler piping in the future so i think ill be good for a while, if not till i get another car. but these techs are pretty good and i have to trust em, but ill make sure they do a good job. cause if i have problems, they'll be hearing from me, a lot!!!

GM has really clamped down on warrenty parts. chances are unless they are seeing alot of this happening, that engine will be go to GM for inspection.

and in case you people didn't know dealers are required to hold 100% of warrenty parts returns, in the event GM wants to inspect the parts. this is for product improvement and prevent false warrenty claims

You know i was working on a guys 05 corvette on and off for 2 months because of a damn steering column issue where i replaced 4 column to finally get a part that worked, and he got a free major service done paid for by GM, so they are giving when it comes to that!!!

interesting....
maybe the dealership has no mastertech to do a teardown.

The other thought is that its cheaper labor for dealer/ GM to swap a motor than to pull the motor, tear it down, and put it back in, (ties up staff and a bay for much longer)

usually they replace the motor, (complete, turbo everything) cluth and flywheel since it comes as an assembled unit from the factory. I know that's how it went with the LSJ's
