Question Looking 4 Some Opinions

*WARNING*
The following thread has more than likely been posted by someone else on this forum in some way, shape, or manner. So, please no flaming, or smart ass comments. Thank you.

OKay, I have a Silver 2008 2.0 LNF turbo Cobalt SS. I want to mod the car, but keep it within warranty parameters. Meaning nothing but bolt-ons, and other bullshit mods. So what I want to do is the following:

Performance
1.Stage kit when available
2.CAI to the turbo with inverted top cone filter
3.High Flow Catted Downpipe
4.Mandrel bent 3" cat back exhaust piping
5.Performance muffler
6.IC piping
7.Intercooler
8.BOV Spring

Appearance
1.Lowering Springs
2.Halos in the front
3.LED's in the back
4.Black out Interior
5.Silver Window tint
6.Shorty Antenna
7.Silver or Chrome front/back fascia inserts, and badges
8.Angry Eyes

Possible Modifications
1.Dual Exhaust
2.Powder Coat wheels and badges and inserts
3.Staged Clutch/Lightened Flywheel
4.STS
5.Triple gauges

Thats the list so far. Seeing as this is my first turbo car, and my second car that is being modded (had a 93 PGT with ZE swap, CAI, AWR mounts, Stage 1 clutch. and MX-3 Flywheel), what are your opinions on brand, other mods, current mods, etc. Doesnt matter if its performance or appearance. Hell it doenst even matter if it's negative comments on my list. ANY and ALL feedback is appreciated.

sounds good man. I think dual exhaust is a little extreme though. Just stick with a 3" single outlet exhaust. You should defintely do the STS. I got a hurst and I love mine. I want to do triple gauges too but I think I am just going to do a double. I only want boost gauge and A/F gauge

skip the dual exhaust, stupid since we only have 1 bank of cylinders, 1 turbo, and 1 opening in the rear fascia

I have the twm sts. i love mine as well. i got the bushings and the heavy knob and it now just flows flawlessly into gear. And i'm not sure you can "powdercoat" your badges, but painting them would be awesome. not sure if anyone in your area does hydrographics, but that would look awesome on the badges if you didn't want to paint them.

Yeh wasnt thinking of true duals, just branching the pipes, but then again it's almost pointless ecspecially for the cost. And I'm not sure if you can powdercoat the emblems and fascia pieces either, but Im just not a fan of the black pieces, and the white/silver trimmed badges.

For the performance list, I would check out the following vendors: Hahn, Dejon, and Clear Image.

It shouldn't. The dealer has to prove that it was that part that caused whatever went wrong with the car

Just remember that until you get tuned (either the GM upgrade, or custom) no other performance modification are really going to help you at all, since the PCM will drop the power back to stock levels.

And a custom tune could void your warranty, so you might want to consider that.

Also, lowering springs will sometimes void your suspension warranty, depending on the dealership.

work with ur dealer about warranty. theres a law about warranties and how they cant be void unless the certain part messed up the motor.

if ur delaer declines, get ugly and let them know how stupid and idiotic they are about voiding. "yes sir, ur right, my aftermarket exhaust caused my engine to blow up." **** you

Yeh the warranty shouldnt be voided by any of the parts. I may hold off on the springs until 36k miles, since thats when the bumper to bumper runs outs. The tune will be covered in the speculated stage kit expected sometime in this quarter. I've been looking at the aftermarket parts from HAHN, Dejon, Clear Image, etc. Still waiting till aleast April/May before any of this takes effect, so hopefully the aftermarket scene will get a little broader. I saw the post regarding parts and prices, but besides tunes, IC are IC and piping is piping right? Performance numbers should roughly be the same regarding majority of bolt ons right? Not tryign to be all newb and what not, but again new to the tuning scene except the PGT, but that was a 93, this is a 2008...a LOT different.

BTW the dealers for the most part will try to stick to you regardless. Soon as 5 years hit and the bitch is paid for, I'm selling, and splitting the money between a project car, and a down payment for a brand new daily driver.
