Boost trouble...

I have been having trouble off and on. I was getting the flutter and limp mode for awhile and it seems like the gas cap was actually to blame (it wasn't seating right). Months have gone by and now I am getting a pretty rough idle, hard start into first, nothing above 5psi in 2nd, and completely normal boosting (23psi) from 3rd on. Any ideas? You can see my mods below. I think the GMS1 MAP or TMAP is probably to blame. Took a look at the MAP yesterday and it did seem to have some particles on it that I cleaned. I'm going to have to remove some stuff before I can look at the TMAP. Definitely going to look into putting an oil catch can on. From what I can see so far there are no tears in the vacuum lines but I'm going to take a better look under the turbo tonight. **** pisses me off, always a problem...

I was having a similar problem last night, it went away when I stopped trying to no life shift..

I thought it might have to do with my car being stock, and having a catless dp... I was hoping GMS1, or any tune would stop the weird behavior since i put on the DP

Mine will go away too... Just to come back absolutely randomly. Definitely not your dp, I have pretty much all things on my car and never had a problem until these last few months

Now that I think about it... Maybe a bad o2 sensor in the downpipe. I'll have to check that later. Would those symptoms fit?

A. Fuel trims whacked from the Hahn intake
2. A bad job on the GMS1 sensor install.
D. Possible boost leak.

Any CEL's?

Winner... I bet they didn't solder the wires.

There is a CEL that comes and goes, I need to get up to autozone while it is on. If it was the install, why would it be over a year before problems? When I turned the car on this afternoon it was backfiring BAD. I just let it do its thing for a couple of minutes and revved it up a few times. It feels like something is almost clogged or that I have bad gas? Suddenly it cleared, CEL went off, and no problems on the drive home. I'm sure it will be back soon, though..

Bad crimp connections take time to corrode and cause problems. Solder, heat shrink & tape the connections. You can still get the codes read after the CEL goes out, they are stored in the ECU.
