yea, so i found out why my BOV sounded extremely loud lol. I forgot to connect the vacuum hose back up. It threw a CEL after my 2nd drive so i was like WTF looked under hood and realized my stupidity. Is there anyway to eliminate the vacuum line so it doesnt throw a CEL because it sounds awesome

To you all that have installed the spring already that are tuned have you noticed an increase in the response of the turbo after lifting then applying full throttle again. Looking at how thin the stock spring is it looks like it would not close the BPV as near as quickly, and I bet you the stock piece will be toast after 20K miles of Hard driving with higher than stock boost levels.
i have over 20 k on my stock spring and it is still good (actually got slightly louded

lol ok ok guys i will. I will show you where to hook it up to and everything but you must know that i took it off because I am tuning with HP tuners next week. But i must say that i know our cars have the learn down feature but my car was VERY much faster with the Boost Controller. If i was cruising in 2nd gear and nailed it my tires would break loose. I will post pics for you guys tho. It has to be installed in an awkward spot underneath the turbo and ill show you where i installed the actual controller

Might want to check this out before you buy a spring that does not do much:

http://www DOT skyroadster DOT com/forums/f24/bov-now-available-redline-24501/

Note what Hahn has to say about that... Specifically post #10.

ok here is a pic of where i put the boost controller.
http://i491.photobucket.com/albums/r...2/100_0959.jpg

ok now there is a rubber hose on the bottom of your turbo. You have to get underneath the car to see this. Take the hose out and use 2 rubber hoses to run to the manual boost controller. I can post more pics tomorrow if you would like to see this. I will even hook it up for you and shoot a vid of the bost gauge if you're good lol

It never says that the spring HURTS anything for one.

For two it's $10. I can spend more than that on Burger King for me and a friend.

Some of us are just doing a tune and calling it a day more or less. Some stock BOV's are designed by the factory to be of UNEQUAL pressure as a prevention to prevent boost spikes. This would cause a leak by the physical design. Putting the stronger spring in can address that issue.

Anyone doing heavy modding or even light modding with intake / exhaust... certainly those doing turbo swaps I am sure are going to replace the entire valve anyway.

It's just $10... No one has said it would actually HURT anything, just arguing that it wouldn't help... so I don't know what the fuss is.

so if someone can give me a quick explanation id appreciate it. I remove the vacuum hose from the BOV, and put it in the boost controller leaving the BOV open?

no! You do nothing with the vacuum line that comes out of the BOV. LEave that hose alone

just hold tight for a few hours. By noon Central Time I will show you how to do it

oooo, okay. I left it off when i installed spring like an idiot, drove around and was like holy **** for $10 this sounds amazing. CEL came on and i put the vacuum line back on and it got a lot quieter. If i remove the VACUUM HOSE i could cause a major problem correct??

no spring = constant recirculation, prolly get stuck open
could close if you boost never tried not physically known.
