Buying a new turbo,suggestions please

I have been out of the game for a few yrs,I bought my lnf brand new in 08,bought everything I could at the time and havnt done anything in 5 yrs.I will be installing a new trans in the next month so while I am at it why not buy a bigger turbo. What is out there 1stoff?. I'm not looking for anything crazy ,something that will bolt right up to the car with lil to no modifications.I would like to keep the stock recirculation system. My biggest want from this turbo is I want it to sound like a turbo like a peterbilt taking off,the stock lnf turbo is WAY to quiet, the louder the whistle spool sound the better .I am aware of are the zzp options, the zfr etc.Is there anywhere else to look,I seen that Hahn has a S16g but that's not really appealing since their cs is horrible.Pass along any suggestions/vendors would be much appreciated. BTW I have pretty much every bolt on so ideally a plug and play unit would be the way.TIA

With a k&n short ram intake, catless downpipe, and a zfr you will hear lots of turbo noises. Bolt right up there isn't anything better in my opinion than a zfr, especially if you want quick spooling time. There are many other options from the lower buck options of a K04r to the zfr's, werks also makes their own "zfr", plus the "S" turbo's, and options from BNR. All but the zfr or werks version may require you to change downpipes or relocate your sensors.
Bear in mind you will need a tune for any of them and also the trans will be taxed much more.

Not so worried about the trans, the OEM unit that I am replacing is going out for a rebuild that will handle the power..Thanks for the input, I guess I'm spoiled,I have an 86 GN bone stock and the turbo on that sounds like a semi going passed.I will probably go zzp route but I just wanted to make sure that there wasnt something else out there I looked into before buying.Do you know anything about the Z54 from zzp?

I have the zfr 7163 and love it. I've heard of alot of issues with that z54 turbo not sure if zzp has corrected them in the newer units

As big of a pain as it can be to get the turbo in and out, especially a bigger one, I would go with a zfr over a z54 because the zfr is a better more reliable turbo. It is more expensive for sure but if you are going to do it you might as well do it once.

When the time comes im going to do zfr as well. Direct bolt in and same setup as the factory, can't really beat that.

if you want spool sound. s257. half of the reason I love this thing is because it sounds amazing when it spools. and videos don't do it justice so don't bother asking for one. you have to hear it in person. it will be expensive to convert, but its worth it, for sound, ease of swapping later if you break it, cheaper in the long run if it breaks, and with the setup you have way more turbo options in the future if you want something else. just make sure you do recirculated dump if you go with it so you don't hear loud ass dump instead of the sweet sweet spool

ya you can. swap over to t3 turbo, way easier to install new turbo if you end up blowing it, way cheaper to replace. zfr takes minimum 4 hours to swap out if everything goes right. t3 style like 257, I can do it in 30 minutes. if ur going zfr, id strongly recommend getting the stainless o2 housing as well, because that stock one is a pain in the freaking ass to deal with.

Can you even get that anymore? BNRs site is terrible.

The 7163 is one hell of a turbo that spools stupid quick if you want it to and should get you over 500whp on e (supporting mods needed).

The 7163 outflows the factory manifold. I have a 6758 on my daily. I think you just have to email them to find out
