Exclamation Car will not help, looking for advice

Guys,

Car will not start, just trys turning over until the computer stops it. I was coming into the driveway after a 6 hour drive and I noticed some backfire. It kept getting worse and I had to stop the car on a large hill to open a gate (trying to go on vacation). The car would hardly start and I ended up stalling it trying to reverse so I could get the car to a semi flat spot b/c the hill is so steep the ebrake and gear in don't stop it from slowly moving down hill I have the GSM1 tune and I have had issues similiar to this with the backfire from my MAF sensor, but I have always been able to 'wiggle' it or take it apart and have the car be just fine. I have also never had it not be able to start for so long.

The car has been sitting for an hour or so cooling down. I unhooked the MAF sensor and hooked it back up and nothing. Going back up to unhook battery and let sit for a while hoping I can get it started up.

Does anyone else have any ideas that could help me out? I will take a picture of the driveway so you can see how steep it is. I am also in the boonies so getting a tow truck back here is going to be hell! Any help is VERY APPRECIATED, thanks guys!

No CEL that I am aware of, but I have a CEL that hasn't been cleared for a while from when the sensor acted up before. I ended up removing the sensor and it was able to turn over and start, but obviously it doesn't run well. Put sensor back in and it started up but once you let off the gas it starts backfiring.

I am a newb at this, but I think the sensor it throwing some off value that is making the car run rich. I sure wish I had HP Tuners so I could see what the hell the car was doing, or think it was doing. I think I am going to take it to the dealership and see if they can figure out whats up. Need this fixed before my 7 hour trip back home

So new question with this. I some how lost my screws to put the sensor back in, so I was just testing with it held up snuggly while sitting still.

How bad is it to have the MAF sensor totally disconnected to drive like 30 miles to a dealership?

Hah, well I ended up just covering up the hole with some cardboard and drove it to the dealer w/o the MAF sensor. I never did WOT obviously, but the car ran real smooth! Not sure how but it did.
