The problem is, Payam (FastGti69) isn't a mechanic.... however his tuner who he payed gobs of money to in order to get his car mechanically in line sure claims to be the god of all tuners/mechanics with all of his "technical training" he supposedly has. Looks like he missed turbo swap issues 101 class in his schooling..

I do understand the issues they went through during the swap and unexpected things that came up, so its understandable. It just makes it so much easier to track down problems when you take all the necessary steps.

I would fix that and pressurize the system and look for any other leaks.

Not to mention his tuner drove cross country in order to get his car running and do all of the swapping.

No no, I think you're sort missing what I'm saying. Wert sort of touched on my point below. Fastgti payed his tuner to drive out to Cali and do an entire engine swap, turbo swap and tune the car in person if time provided. Problem is, he did a half assed job in the swap imo. So all in all, it should have been the job of the person doing the engine/turbo swap to begin with to track down such a massive boost leak in the first place.... which in this case is voldemort himself.

Right, and he should have picked up on the issue pretty quickly imo.

I don't know why you picked a 25g anyway, no offense. Why settle for the world's first cell phone when you can own a galaxy s4?

I wouldn't give up though man and go to another car. Go back to a basic t3/wastegatted system. Its easy to souce parts for a zzp turbo kit. They are proven. Park the car for a few months while you locate the parts one by one.

The thing is, this might not even be the issue. I have done aboost leak test. A couple of times LOL. I went down to meet with Alerosaint a couple months back and we did it. We found a leak and patch it up. It wasnt the BOV at all. So idk. Maybe it isn't leaking I'm just taking a guess right now. It could be leaking under high pressure. We didn't do more than like 20 psi in the system. I got a flange with a new BOV and ordered a full new boost leak checker. It has a gauge and everything and has a schrader valve too so it's convenient... I will do a test again after the new BOV is in. I'm goign to try it once more. If that doesn't do it. I don't really want to spend money on this car anymore.. Even though I know I can turn it into a monster.

The sad thing is, I really never cheaped out on anythign either. That 25g to get customized with a whole new wheel, compressor housing, wastegate actuator, porting and balancing cost me 2500 itself. I juts wanted to be different and try out a huge turbo. They got great results in the evo world...Charge pipes, bov, maf relocate cost me like 700. along with all the other parts I already put into the car. I called all these big named shops out here, told them money wasn't an issue. Just fix it, it's really easy and basic turbo mechanic stuff... Nobody wanted to "waste" their time on a cobalt. They laughed when I tell them this is a potential 500+whp car easily. W/e though enough bitching. You live and you learn. Next setup is going to be external WG gtx35 or 6262 if i can't find a buyer for this or if this last option doesn't fix my 25g issue.

I just really want a bimmer at this point either an e46 m3 or a 335 sedan with a PTE6466 in there. I'll be the happiest person on earth if I can do that.

LOL. I think it's hilarious when people don't want to waste their time on my car.

I get dynoed tiwce a year at a shop that specializes in Subarus. And honestly, they all poke jokes at first, but I always make fun of how a cobalt on a stock motor crushes their subarus that have 20 grand into them.

I always joke with them about their website. If a honda or subaru comes in and puts down 300whp the whole world has to know about it, but in comes a cobalt and puts down 500whp and shhhhh...it's a secret!

Even the owner has said himself that the turbo cobalt was the best ride GM ever made...and then they discontinued them. LOL.

Don't give up!

Bring it to the east coast! No time will be wasted.

I would love to see if a new tuner could get you going somewhat decent. Someone needs to step in and take charge...

I know haha. Where I went to get dynoed they work on 300zx the TT ones. They get like 600whp etc you know. When they see me rolling up and wanting to dyno w/e they strap me in. They're like so what do you think you're gonna hit? I'm like hopefully a little more than 400. I'm wating to hit 430 and I'll be happy. Two of the guys looked at each other and smirked. They're like this will be interesting.. is this your first time at a dyno? I'm like... No but this car will surprise you.. The guy at first couldn't even handle the car. he did a half way pull and had to stop. He said it was too much torque. He looked at the graph and he's like 330 at 3.5k rpm!? wtf. I'm like yea.. strap it tighter cause when it hits full boost its gonna torque like a bitch. the other guy had to come and dyno the car. They were amazed when I hit 415, they didn't believe it.

Anyways, I just want to get this thing working. So much money and **** to pretty much get it insured to handle the 500+whp club, and i can't even use it.

Haha, if it was that easy man. I don't even trust the car to make it there without breaking in half LOL.

I tried the new BOV, same ****. I put the real HKS back in and seated it better etc. Still getting surge... I got a much better boost leak tester. I'm going to try that tomorrow and go full on spray soapy water everywhere and try out 25-30 psi test. After that, I'm going to try the regular boost solenoid instead of the MBC. I'm going to see maybe because it spools too fast and flows too much it might be causing the surge. We might need a slower ramp but idc. I'm going to rev up to 7.5k soon. So those are my last few options..

Not bashing but I do think tuning is a key part in the turbo. Nickateens set up isn't crazy like it should be, fast is having problems constantly, and yours isn't tuned(shocker). I would love to see hard and good evidence that its completely worth. From the 3 who do have the 25g set up which are from the same tuner, which I did have when I had horrible problems with my car. I switched tuners and my car definitely thanked me and I really haven't had any problems other than shattering my trans...

Go for another test spin and try the ****** out.

Here is the vid for you guys. My comments made me laugh after, I was so pissed and happy I finally found out what it was.

I'm not the greatest mechanic but being on the west coast with my cobalt, even my supercharged alero, forced me to be more of a mechanic. Thank God for the hobby shop on base. Bu when it comes time to do cams idk If I can pull it off. Cause bad luck is my best friend when i start work on engine internals

internals are scary, one thing I'll definitely never do alone on my car.
