Different Intercoolers?
It looks like it's going to work out fine though. The insurance is going to cover the cost of the original intercooler+labor, so I just pay the difference for whatever intercooler I choose to put on it. I suppose if it's cheaper then I just pocket the difference and now have an upgraded intercooler.

It's funny how it worked out. I was just thinking about how some of the ICs were pretty expensive, and then this just kinda happened and it's a great opportunity to do it.

Lunch UPDATE
Steve called, said the intercooler is almost done. They are starting the strut bar as we speak. I am keeping everything. I'm just paying for parts.
Tidbit: apprently they found tools left behind from manufacturing or something. I found another part under the hood the first time I took it to them.

Intercooler is done. It is huge. I did some hard runs and couldn't bring heat to it. I cant tell you IAT2s cause my dashHawk doesn't do that read out.
Car boosts a little quicker .
I would say the new intercooler is twice the size of stock. It is really tall and I little shorter in length. They are fabbing up some to sell as we speak and you can't beat the price.
The strut bar was almost done but we ran out of time.
P.S. The bumper comes off really easy. I was amazed.

UPDATE:
All of the KR I had is gone. I have no way of knowing how much the temp drops are compared to stock, but the 3 or 4 degrees of KR I was having are gone. Guess the stock tune is shitty and retards under moderate to high temps

Are we talking 10 degrees or like 30 or 40?
I'm really happy, makes me excited to see the car running that much cooler. Increasing the longevity of the engine is always a good thing.
Hey that's my car!
If the CIA charge pipes are made to fit stock locations then I see no reason it wouldn't work with this setup.

That intercooler looks awesome and it looks like it's fits just right. I'm looking at the head-on pic though and it seems that the "useful" exposed area of the intercooler is about the same size as a typical aftermarket intercooler though.
Is there some sort of front air ducting that you're planning on doing? It just looks to me like half the intercooler is behind the bumper and therefore outside the effective flow of most cooling airflow...
I don't mean to be a wet blanket, that intercooler is quite a work of art. I just wonder if it's application here keeps it from reaching its full potential.

That intercooler will get plenty of airflow across the face of it. The air doesn't pass through it correct? The air should hit the face of it and travel up or down across the face of it.
I was a little worried about air flow across the engine radiator, but that black lip at the bottom directs flow up across that radiator so it is fine. I have not noticed an engine coolant temp raise at all.
